What is the domain of f?
Sedbober [7]

The domain of a function is the set of all possible inputs for the function. For example, the domain of f(x)=x² is all real numbers, and the domain of g(x)=1/x is all real numbers except for x=0.

a b) You are running around a rectangular ground of length 42 m and breadth 24 m. How many metres do you cover when you complete
prisoha [69]

Answer:

792 m

Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter of a rectangle = 2l + 2b

⇒ perimeter of ground = (2 x 42) + (2 x 24) = 132 m

Perimeter = 1 round

⇒ 6 rounds = 6 x 132 = 792 m

Cody bought 2 pair of gloves and 4 hats for $43. Tori bought 2 pairs of gloves and 2 hats. Find the prices of the gloves and hat
Nuetrik [128]

<em><u>Question:</u></em>

At a sale on winter clothing, Cody bought two pairs of gloves and four hats for $43.00. Tori bought two pairs of gloves and two hats for $30.00. What were the prices for the gloves and hats?

<em><u>Answer:</u></em>

Price of one pair of gloves is $ 8.5 and price of 1 hat is $ 6.5

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Let "g" be the price of one pair of gloves

Let "h" be the price of 1 hat

<em><u>Cody bought 2 pair of gloves and 4 hats for $43</u></em>

Therefore, we frame a equation as:

2 x price of one pair of gloves + 4 x price of 1 hat = 43

2 \times g + 4 \times h = 43

2g + 4h = 43 ----------- eqn 1

<em><u>Tori bought two pairs of gloves and two hats for $30.00</u></em>

Therefore, we frame a equation as:

2 x price of one pair of gloves + 2 x price of 1 hat = 30

2 \times g + 2 \times h = 30

2g + 2h = 30

Divide by 2

g + h = 15

g = 15 - h ----------- eqn 2

<em><u>Let us solve eqn 1 and eqn 2</u></em>

<em><u>Substitute eqn 2 in eqn 1</u></em>

2(15 - h) + 4h = 43

30 - 2h + 4h = 43

2h = 43 - 30

2h = 13

<h3>h = 6.5</h3>

<em><u>Substitute h = 6.5 in eqn 2</u></em>

g = 15 - 6.5

<h3>g = 8.5</h3>

Thus price of one pair of gloves is $ 8.5 and price of 1 hat is $ 6.5
