If I am understanding the problem statement correctly, then the East and west magnitude would be:

300 - 18 = 282 cm East

The North and South magnitude would be equal 34 cm. Giving us a right triangle with the side lengths given above. We use Pythagorean Theorem to calculate for the third side.

C^2 = 34^2 + 282^2 = 80680
C = 284.04 cm -------> OPTION A

Two trains, each having a speed of 28 km/h, are headed at each other on the same straight track. A bird that can fly 60 km/h fli
Semenov [28]

Answer:

The value is D =  70.71 \ km

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

The speed of each train is v =  28 \  km/h

The speed of the bird is v_1 =  60 \  km/h

The distance between the trains is d = 66 \ km

Generally the time taken before the collision occurs is mathematically represented as

t =  \frac{d}{2 * v}

=> t =  \frac{66 }{2 *  28}

=> t = 1.18 \  h

The total distance covered by the bird is mathematically represented as

D =  v_1 *  t

=>   D =  60 * 1.18

=>   D =  70.71 \ km

About how long does it take the sun to rotate once about its axis?
Troyanec [42]

Very very roughly, an Earth month.

The Sun isn't solid, so it doesn't all have to rotate at the same rate. Different latitudes actually rotate at different speeds. One complete rotation is about 24 days at the Sun's equator, but 35 days near the poles !

You have two springs that are identical except that spring 1 is stiffer than spring 2, (k1 > k2). On which spring is more wor
kicyunya [14]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given

Two springs with spring constant k_1 and k_2

(a)If they are stretched using the same force

Force F=k_1x_1=k_2x_2

where x_1 and x_2 are the extension in the spring

so \frac{k_1}{k_2}=\frac{x_2}{x_1}

therefore x_2 > x_1

Work done is given by

W=F\cdot x

W_1=F\cdot x_1

W_2=F\cdot x_2

thus W_2 > W_1

(b)If they are stretched the same distance

\frac{F_1}{F_2}=\frac{k_1}{k_2}

Thus F_1 > F_2

For same extension, work done by Force 1 is more

W_1 > W_2

When analyzing forces, it is allowable to break the motion and forces into horizontal and vertical components.
jonny [76]

The statement above is TRUE.

When analyzing forces it is permitted to break the motion and forces into horizontal and vertical components. This is especially true for two dimensional projectile motion, in order to simplify the calculation, the forces and the motion has to be broken down into horizontal and vertical components. The vertical component is affected by the force of gravity while the horizontal component is not affected by gravity for short displacements. With greater displacement, the force of gravity comes into play.
