It's C.  In order to be in standard form you have to have all your exponents in descending order.  They don't all have to be there in order, the ones that are just have to go from highest to lowest.

Answer:

Option C - 11x^5-6x^2-9x+12

Step-by-step explanation:

To find : Which polynomial is in standard form?

Solution :

The standard form of a polynomial is defined as each term in order of degree is written from highest to lowest.

The degree is the power of a variable.

Now, we check the order of each polynomial.

A) 26x^5+12x^7-8x^3+6x

The degree of the polynomial is 5,7,3,1 not from highest to lowest.

So, No the polynomial is not in standard form.

B) 3x^5+x-6x^2+5

The degree of the polynomial is 5,1,2 not from highest to lowest.

So, No the polynomial is not in standard form.

C) 11x^5-6x^2-9x+12

The degree of the polynomial is 5,2,1 is from highest to lowest.

So, Yes the polynomial is in standard form.

D) 5x^2+18x^2-12x^4+4x^7

The degree of the polynomial is 2,2,4,7 not from highest to lowest.

So, No the polynomial is not in standard form.

Therefore, Option C is correct.

The standard form of the polynomial is 11x^5-6x^2-9x+12

Bethanine left at 3:00 in the afternoon and walked 3/10 of a mile to Bridget's house. Laney walked 36/100 of a mile to Bridget's
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

Bethanie and Laney walked a total of = 0.66 miles or (\frac{33}{50}th of a mile)

Step-by-step explanation:

Bethanie walked 3/10th of a mile

Laney walked 36/100th of a mile

Lets divide and convert them to decimal:

3 divided by 10 gives us 0.30

36 divided by 100 gives 0.36

Total they walked:

0.30 + 0.36 = 0.66 miles

That would be (in fraction):

66/100 = 33/50 of a mile

Please help with question 6, 7, 8, and 9 about rational and irrational numbers
aliina [53]
6. When we multiply two surdic integers, we can leave it into one big surd.
For instance, if we have:

\sqrt{a} \cdot \sqrt{b}, we can simplify it down to one uniform square root sign, \sqrt{ab}.

So, we can say: 3\sqrt{2} \cdot 8\sqrt{18} = 24\sqrt{36}, which is a rational root, because the square root of 36 can be converted into an integer, namely 6 and -6.

Hence, it is a rational root.

7. The summation, on the other hand, cannot be simplified any further, so it will stay as irrational. This is because √2 is already an irrational root, and adding it onto a number that is rational will stay as irrational.

8. Once again, the summation cannot be simplified. We can only simplify by factoring like terms. Hence, this must be irrational.

9. Even if it is in fractional notation, √5 can never be a rational number because no two integers when multiplied by itself will give 5. So, even if it is written in fractional form, they cannot be rational if there is an already irrational term in it.

Which expression can be substituted for y in the top equation of the
maria [59]

Answer:

Y=7+3x, x=-3, y=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

3x-5y=1. Equation 1

3x-y=-7. Equation 2

-y=-7-3x isolate for y in equation 2

y=7+3x multiplied by -1 to get positive y

3x-5(7+3x)=1 substitute y value of equation 2 (7+3x) into equation 1

3x-35-15x=1

-12x=36

x=-3

solve for y.

3x-5y=1

3(-3)-5y=1

-9-5y=1

-5y=10

y=-2
