Complete the work shown to answer the question. p2 – 14p – 72 = 0 p2 – 14p = 72 p2 – 14p + 49 = 72 + 49 Which describes the solu

tions of the equation? Since 7 and 11 are both rational, the sum and difference are rational. Since 14 and 11 are both rational, the sum and difference are rational. Since 7 is rational and is irrational, the sum and difference are irrational. Since is irrational and 11 is rational, the sum and difference are irrational.

Answer:

a. Since 7 and 11 are both rational, the sum and difference are rational.

Step-by-step explanation:

p^2 – 14p – 72 = 0

p^2 – 14p = 72

p^2 – 14p + 49 = 72 + 49

p^2 – 14p + 7^2 = 11^2

(p - 7)^2 = 121

taking square roots in both sides

p - 7 = ± 11

  • p = +11 + 7 = 18
  • p = -11 + 7 = -4

This procedure was made knowing that 7 and 11 are both rational

Astrid is in charge of building a new fleet of ships. Each ship requires 40 tons of wood, and accommodates 300 sailors. She rece
gogolik [260]

Answer:Astrid needs 280 tons of wood

Step-by-step explanation:

Because:

1 ship requires 40 tons of wood=accomodates 300 sailors

We must:

2100, sailors needed to be accomodated

÷

300, sailors that can be accomodated by 1 ship that requires 40 tons of wood

=7 groups of 300 sailors that can be accomodated by 1 ship that requires 40 tons of wood.

So:

I ship that requires 40 tons of wood × the 7, groups = 280 tons of wood.

I hope this helps! Im sorry its too complicated.

Simplier:

2100 ÷ 300= 7

40 × 7= 280

For what value of a does (1/7)^3a+3=343^a-1?
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer: ok, remember that when

x^a=x^b, when x=x, then a=b

also

x^-m=1/(x^m)

and

(x^m)^n=x^(mn)

so

we can rewrite 1/7 as 7^-1

so

and 343=7^3

7=7 so

-3a-3=3a-3

add 3a to both sides

-3=6a-3

add 3 to both sides

0=6a

0=a

a=0

Answer: 0

Find the lateral area of a cone with a radius of 7 ft. and a slant height of 13 ft use 3.14 for
lukranit [14]
To find the lateral surface area, use the following formula
la = π × r × s

Given:
π = 3.14
r = 7 ft
s = 13 ft

Solution
Input the numbers to the formula
la = π × r × s
la = 3.14 × 7 × 13
la = 285.74

The lateral surface area of the cone is 285.74 square feet
