You are a fisheries biologist for the state of North Carolina. You are charged with protecting the fish population, while also

keeping professional fishermen from losing their jobs. Based on the chart above, what would you conclude and what would your solution be?
A) There is a serious problem with overfishing of red grouper, so there must be a problem with other fish as well. All fishing for any species should be banned.
Catch YearAverage Mass (kg) Mature MalesEstimated Population (millions)199022.317.5199121.618.2199221.414.4199320.913.5199420.213.2199520.314.2199619.710.9199719.810.8199818.89.5199917.99.4B)There is not a very serious problem. The smaller size and population are probably just due to some bad years. Do nothing and monitor the situation.

C)There is a problem with overfishing. Ban fishing for large fish so their size and population can recover, but allow the fishermen to take smaller fish.

D)There is a problem with overfishing of red grouper, but the fishermen need to stay in business. Bring in another species of grouper from Australia, so that there are more fish to catch.

I think the answer would be C) There is a problem with overfishing. Ban fishing for large fish so their size and population can recover, but allow the fisherman to take smaller fish.

banning fishing all together or ignoring the problem would definitely not work and bringing in a new species could disrupt the ecosystem and cause more of an issue.

c.} This chart shows the annual catch statistics for the red grouper for the state of North Carolina during the 1990’s. Red grouper begin their lives as females, and the largest fish change sexes to become male during mating season. Only large females mate with these males and lay eggs.

There are 20 naturally occurring amino acids, therefore, there are only 20 mRNA codons. True or false
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

False. There are 20 amino acids, but 64 possible codons.

Explanation:

Genetic information for the aminoacids assembly during the protein synthesis is stored in short sequences of three nucleotides named codons in the mRNA. Each of the codons represents one of the 20 amino acids used to build the protein. The total number of possible codons is 64, from which 61 codify amino acids -more than one codon codify for the same amino acid-. One of these amino acids is also the start point of protein synthesis. And the left three codons are stopping translation points.

The codons indicating the initiation or stop points during the translation process are:

• The start codon AUG is the most common sequence used by eukaryotic cells and places near the 5´extreme of the molecule. However, other codons might be used as well. Prokaryote cells might use the codons GUG or UUG.

• The end codons are UAA, UAG, UGA.

Which equation is an expression of the second law of thermodynamics for a spontaneous process?.
leva [86]

The second law of thermodynamics states that a spontaneous process increases the entropy of the universe, S(univ) > 0. If ΔS(univ) < 0, the process is nonspontaneous, and if ΔS(univ) = 0, the system is at equilibrium

What is thermodynamics ?

The science of thermodynamics examines the connections between heat, work, temperature, and energy. The rules of thermodynamics explain how energy moves inside a system and whether or not the system is capable of performing beneficial work on its surroundings.

 • Energy cannot be generated or destroyed, according to Thermodynamics' First Law. The entropy of the cosmos increases for spontaneous processes, according to the second law of thermodynamics. Third Law of Thermodynamics: Entropy is zero in a flawless crystal at absolute zero Kelvin.
