How many oxygen atoms are there in the product 6Ca+4PO4 --> 2Ca3 (PO4)2?

Chemistry
2 answers:
Arlecino [84]3 years ago
4 0

Explanation:

An oxygen atom is represented by the symbol O. And, the number placed in front of the atom or at the bottom left corner of an atom shows how many atoms are actually present.

For example, 6Ca + 4PO_{4} \rightarrow 2Ca_{3}(PO_{4})_{2}

Here, on the reactant side number of Ca atoms are 6, P atoms are 4 and O atoms are 16. On the product side, number of Ca atoms are 6, P atoms are 4 and O atoms are 16.

Thus, we can conclude that the number of oxygen atoms on product side are 16.

No of atoms = 6Ca + 4(1P + 4O)] = 6 atoms + 4x5 atoms = 6 atoms + 20 atoms

= 26 atoms

The electromagnetic wave relationship that has the formula c = ν times λ; What does each letter or symbol mean?
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

c is speed of light (in terms of velocity)

v is velocity

lambda is wavelength

Explanation:

speed of light is constant at 3 x 10^8 m/s which is a velocity value. Lambda is usually in the units of nanometers which represents wavelength.

For the reaction: 2 A+B 3 C the rate of disappearance of B was 0.30 M/s. What is the rate of disappearance of A and the rate of
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

rA = 0.60 M/s

rC = 0.90 M/s

Explanation:

Let's consider the following reaction:

2 A+B ⇒ 3 C

The rate of each substance can be calculated like the change in its concentration divided by the change in time. Given the rate must always be positive, we add a minus sign before the reactants change in concentration.

rA=-\frac{\Delta[A] }{\Delta t}

rB=-\frac{\Delta[B] }{\Delta t}

rC=\frac{\Delta[C] }{\Delta t}

The rate of the reaction is equal to the rate of each substance divided by its  stoichiometric coefficient.

r= \frac{rA}{2} =\frac{rB}{1} =\frac{rC}{3}

The rate of disappearance of B is 0.30 M/s.

The rate of disappearance of A is:

\frac{rA}{2} =\frac{rB}{1}\\rA = 2 \times rB = 2 \times 0.30 M/s = 0.60 M/s

The rate of appearance of C is:

\frac{rB}{1} =\frac{rC}{3}\\rC = 3 \times rB = 3 \times 0.30 M/s = 0.90 M/s
