PART 1:

There are two types of cell division in eukaryotic cells:

* mitosis, which ensures the birth of cells identical to the mother cell during asexual reproduction. It gives diplide cells (2n). It takes place in one division.  It can be done by somatic cells.

* meiosis, a characteristic of male and female reproductive cells, which results in the production of sexual cells or gametes (haploid cell (n)) for reproduction. It takes place in two succesive divisions.

For points in common, both are preceded by the replication of DNA. They have the same divisional steps, and both involve eukaryotic cells.

PART 2:

The stages of division (for mitosis and meiosis) are:

Prophase: It is during this phase that the DNA condenses in the form of chromosomes.

Metaphase: It is then that the collection of condensed chromosomes at the equator of the cell occurs to form the equatorial plate.

Anaphase: During this very fast phase, the sister chromatids separate and migrate to the opposite poles of the cell.

Telophase: This is the last phase of mitosis, the chromatids are now at the two opposite poles of the cell and it begins to split in two.

For meiosis there is a second division, so we speak of prophase II, metaphase II, anaphase II and telophase II.

Which plate boundaries and movements most commonly create earthquakes? Explain how earthquakes can be created by plate tectonics
Bad White [126]
Unique or damaging plate edges cause volcanoes. As the more thick plate subducts, it will dissolve at profundity and the water is driven off, will bring down the liquefying purpose of the overlying mantle wedge, this will make a kind of magma. Volcanic Island Arcs are framed at maritime dangerous plate edges. The hot, light magma, is less thick that the encompassing rock so will ascend to the surface, and will gather underneath the plate that hasn't been subducted. It will then, under expanded weight eject under the ocean. More than thousands of a great many years, it will continue emitting, to shape islands.

Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

The correct answer is option c. "frameshift mutations".

Explanation:

The reading frame of a gene is based on base-pair triplets, starting from the start codon until the ribosome encounters with the end codon. Base-pair additions and deletions are collectively referred to as frameshift mutations because they alter the reading frame of the gene. Base-pair additions and deletions break down the original sequence of the gene triplets, which alters the open reading frame and usually results in the production of non active proteins.
