1 AU = it is defined as distance of Earth from Sun

it is also known as solar distance

So here we know that distance of Earth and Sun is

1 AU = 1.5 * 10^{11} meter

1 Light Year = It is defined as the distance covered by light in 1 year of time

it is calculated by simple product of speed * time

1 Ly = c*t

c = 3* 10^8 m/s = speed of light

t = 1 year = 365 * 24 * 3600 s

t = 3.15 * 10^7 s

now we can find the value of 1 Ly

1 Ly = 9.46 * 10^{15} m

now Voyager distance is given as

d = 141 AU

now in order to convert it into Ly we can say

d = 141 * 1.5 * 10^{11} = 2.115 * 10^{13} m

now we have

d = \frac{2.115 * 10^{13}}{9.46 * 10^{15}}

d = 2.24 * 10^{-3} Ly

so the distance in light year must be 0.00224 Light years

A shell of mass m and speed v explodes into two identical fragments. If the shell was moving horizontally (the positive x direct
-Dominant- [34]

Answer:

The velocity of the other fragment immediately following the explosion is v .

Explanation:

Given :

Mass of original shell , m .

Velocity of shell , + v .

Now , the particle explodes into two half parts , i.e  \dfrac{m}{2} .

Since , no eternal force is applied in the particle .

Therefore , its momentum will be conserved .

So , Final momentum = Initial momentum

mv=\dfrac{mv}{2}+\dfrac{mu}{2}\\\\u=v

The velocity of the other fragment immediately following the explosion is v .

9. Luke is an astronaut that moves his position in the space shuttle by climbing a
BartSMP [9]

Explanation:

Remember that power is defined as how much Work is done per unit of time.

P = \frac{dW}{dt}

Work is defined as the amount of force applied across a certain distance.

W = F*d

Since in both cases of climbing the ladder (on Earth and the moon), Luke coveres the same amount of <em>distance </em>in the same amount of <em>time</em>, we are only left with one difference between the two cases - gravity.

If you were to carry your backpack on the moon with the same load of text books, it would take less force to pick it up on the moon. Therefore, Luke expends less effort on the environment with less gravity - the moon.

To find the difference factor - you would want to divid the gravitational contants between earth and the moon.

A 1.0-in.-diameter hole is drilled on the centerline of a long, flat steel bar that is 1 2 thick and 4 in. wide. The bar is subj
Dominik [7]

Answer:

The answers are

The average stress = 20000 lb/in²

The maximum tensile stress immediately adjacent to the hole

= 31076.92 lb/in²

Explanation:

To solve the question we have

Weight of tensile load = 30,000 lb

Width of steel bar = 4 in

Thickness of steel bar = 1/2 in

Average Stress = Force/Area

Size of hole drilled = 1.0 in diameter

Available width at cross section where the 1.00 in diameter hole is drilled =

(4 - 1) in = 3 inches

Cross sectional area at the point of reduced cross section due to the drilled hole = Width × Thickness (Since the item is a flat bar)

= 3 in × 1/2 in = 1.5 in²

Therefore Stress = (30000 lb)/(1.5 in²) = 20000 lb/in²

the maximum tensile stress immediately adjacent to the hole.

Bending stress = \sigma_B= \frac{M_y}{I} where I = \frac{(0.5^2 + 4^2)}{12}

0.5*30000/I = 11076.92 lb/in²

Max stress = 31076.92 lb/in²

What is the total resistance of the circuit? (must include unit - ohms) I WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST!
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer: 4 ohms

Explanation:

For parallel connection we use this formula

R=equivalent resistance

R1=24 ohms

R2=8 ohms

R3=12 ohms

1/R=1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3

1/R=1/24 + 1/8 + 1/12

1/R=(1x1+3x1+2x1) ➗ 24

Cross multiplying we get

24x1=(1x1+3x1+2x1) x R

24=(1+3+2) x R

24=6xR

Divide both sides by 6

24 ➗ 6=6xR ➗ 6

4=R

R=4 ohms

Some kids are playing by rolling a skateboard across level ground beside a 0.75 m high wall. The goal is to drop from the wall v
lys-0071 [83]

Answer:

The speed of the kid and the skateboard together is 0.723 m/s

Explanation:

Let the mass of the kid be m_{k} = 45 kg

Let the mass of the skateboard be m_{s} = 4,5 kg

The initial speed of the skateboard, v_{s} = 8 m/s

The initial horizontal speed of the boy as he jumps on the skateboard, v_{k} = 0 m/s

Let the speed of the kid and the skateboard together be v

According to the principle of conservation of momentum:

m_{k} v_{k} + m_{s} v_{s} = (m_{k} + m_{s}) v

Substituting the appropriate values into  the given equation

(45*0) + (4.5*8) = (45 + 4.8) v

36 = 49.8 v

v = 36/49.8

v = 0.723 m/s
