The least common denominator for the question you have supplied me with is 10. The least common multiple of the denominators, 5 and 10, is 10, making the LCD 10.

Can dilations be used to form scale copies of a figure?
Inessa [10]

Answer:

sometimes

Step-by-step explanation:

There are several ways that dilation is used in real life. Here are several:

In graphic design. I actually do some graphic design, and I use dilation a lot. It is common to dilate photos to fit the space that you want it to fit.

In police work and crime investigation. Detectives and police dilate photos to see smaller details and evidence.

In architecture. It is normal for architects to make a prototype of their design or building. In order to make the building true to the prototype, they must dilate the scale and measurements.

In the doctor's office. Dilation is used in eye exams so that the eye doctor can view the patient's eye better. After a while it will slowly reduce in size and return back to normal.

In Problems 1-8, determine the level of measurement of each variable.
lbvjy [14]

The level of measurement of each given variable are:

1. Ordinal

2. Nominal

3. Ratio

4. Interval

5. Ordinal

6. Nominal

7. Ratio

8. Interval

Level of measurement is used in assigning measurement to variables depending on their attributes.

There are basically four (4) levels of measurement (see image in the attachment):

1. Nominal: Here, values are assigned to variables just for naming and identification sake. It is also used for categorization.

 • Examples of variables that fall under the measurement are: Favorite movie, Eye Color.

2. Ordinal: This level of measurement show difference between variables and the direction of the difference. In order words, it shows magnitude or rank among variables.

 • Examples of such variables that fall under this are: highest degree conferred, birth order among siblings in a family.

3. Interval Scale: this third level of measurement shows magnitude, a known equal difference between variables can be ascertain. However, this type of measurement has no true zero point.

 • Examples of the variables that fall here include: Monthly temperatures, year of birth of college students

4. Ratio Scale: This scale of measurement has a "true zero". It also has every property of the interval scale.

 • Examples are: ages of children, volume of water used.

Therefore, the level of measurement of each given variable are:

1. Ordinal

2. Nominal

3. Ratio

4. Interval

5. Ordinal

6. Nominal

7. Ratio

8. Interval

A and B are two events.
Burka [1]

Answer:

Not independent.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that P(A)=0.25 , P(B)=0.2 , and P(A and B)=0.04

To check whether A and B are independent.

Two events are independent if

P(A/B) = P(A) or P(B/A) = P(B) or P(AB) = P(A) P(B)

if any one of the above three is true also, the two events would be independent.

Let us find out first one

P(A/B ) = P(AB)/P(B) (as per conditional probability formula)

= 0.04/0.2=0.2

But P(A) = 0.25 and not equals P(A/B)

Hence we can conclude that A and B are not independent

because P(A/B) not equals P(A)
