Answer:

(10q-p)/30=r

Step-by-step explanation:

p=10(q-3r)

distribute

p = 10*q - 10* 3r

p = 10q - 30r

subtract 10q from each side

p-10q = 10q-10q-30r

p-10q = -30r

divide by -30

(p-10q)/-30 = -30r/-30

-(p-10q)/30 =r

distribute

(-p+10q)/30 = r

i would rewrite to put the positive term 1st, put that is a personal choice ( my negative get lost in the parenthesis)

(10q-p)/30=r

It took six hours longer to go there than it did to come back.
The average speed on the trip there was 152 mph.
The average speed on the way back was 380 mph.
How many hours did the trip there take?
(x + 6)152 = 380x

3. A cone has a heighth and a base with radius r. You want to change the cone so its volume is tripled. What is the new height i
Sphinxa [80]

Answer:

Hence the new height is 3 times the original height .(h1=3h)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A cone with has height and base with radius r .

To Find:

What is new height

Solution:

Consider as cone with height h base radius r, and volume v

Here given that only height changes for the cone i.e. r remains the unchanged or same or constant

The volume for a regular cone is given by ,

V=pie*r^2*h/3

Here V is directly proportional to h i.ee pie ,3 and r being constant

V=K*h

i.e V/h=constant

V1 and h1 are new dimensions for new cone

V/h=V1/h1

Here V1=3V

So V/h=3V/h1

1/h=3/h1

i.e h1=3h

Hence the height is 3 times the original height .

The length of a rectangle is 4 centimeters more than twice its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 86 centimeters , find
tensa zangetsu [6.8K]
P = perimeter = 2L + 2W = 86 cm. Also, L = W + 4. Subst. W + 4 for L,

P = 2(W + 4) + 2W = 86 cm. Then 2W + 8 + 2W = 86 cm, and 4W = 78 cm.

Finally solving for W, W = (78 cm)/4, or 19.5 cm.

If W = 19.5 cm, then L = W + 4 cm = 19.5 cm + 4 cm = 23.5 cm

The rectangle's dimensions are 19.5 cm by 23.5 cm.
