The equation is y = mx + b. b is the <u>y intercept,</u> which means the line intersects the <u>y axis</u> at 50, not the x axis. Also, the equation is an inequality and you wrote an equation. The inequality should be 100 ≥ 4x + 50, or 50 ≥ 4x. If y = 4x + 50, then 100 ≥ y.

Also, in the end you got 12.5. 12.5 is not a number of people that can attend her party. The number has to be a positive integer.

Usually, inequalities are graphed with shading up or down. In this case it is down because you have a limit on how much Gamora can spend.

The actual answer is 12 people.

Your answer was almost right if only you had converted it to the greatest positive integer less than 12.

Your graphing was wrong because you put 50 as the x intercept instead of the y intercept, and you forgot to shade. The question tells you to graph an inequality.

I hope this helps because I spent a long time typing this :)!

9)<br> 5.6 yd<br> 5 yd<br> 12 yd<br> Find the area. (A = 1/2 ( 61 + b2) h)
krek1111 [17]

Answer:

Area, A = 63.6 square yards

Step-by-step explanation:

A trapezoid refers to a quadrilateral that is convex in shape; as such it has no equal sides and no parallel sides.

Let the height of a trapezoid be h.

Let the top base of a trapezoid be b1.

Let the bottom base of a trapezoid be b2.

Area \; of \; trapezoid = \frac {1}{2} * (Sum \; of \; nonparallel \; sides) * height

Therefore, Area \; of \; trapezoid = \frac {1}{2} * (b_{1} + b_{2}) * h

Given the following data;

Length, b1 = 5 yards

Width, b2 = 5.6 yards

Height, h = 12 yard

To find the area of geometrical shape (trapezoid), we would use the above formula;

A = 1/2 (b1 + b2) * h

Substituting into the formula, we have;

A = ½ * (5 + 5.6) * 12

A = ½ * (10.6)*12

A = 5.3 * 12

Area, A = 63.6 square yards
