Idn't Spain have more colonies in Africa?
OK. During the era of exploration, the Portuguese were sailing around the coast of Africa and began their colonies in Mozambique, Angola, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde and Sao Tome y Principe. By the 1500's, Spain was preoccupied by explanding their empire in the Americas. Africa was then ignored for centuries before the introduction of quamine, which allowed Europeans to travel inland in Africa without dropping like flies from malaria. Hence, in the 1870's the scramble for Africa began! The British and French, the two largest Western powers of the day, took the most land in Africa. Germany too took colonies...Cameroon, Tanzania, Togo and Namibia were German colonies before WWI. Even Belgium took the Congo (they actually began the Scramble for Africa after circumnaviagting the Congo River). After WWI, they would also take Rwanda and Burundi from the Germans.
Answer:
b. Contemplation
Explanation:
The Stages of Change Model focuses on the decision-making of a person and is a model of intentional change. In other words, it is used when the person actively makes the decision of making a change.
The stages of this model are:
- Precontemplation: People do not intend to take action in the foreseeable future (within the next 6 months). They don't even realize that their behavior is problematic.
- Contemplation: People are intending to start the healthy behavior in the foreseeable future (within the next 6 months). They start to recognize that their behavior is problematic but still feel ambivalent towards changing it.
- Preparation: People are ready to take action within the next 30 days. They start taking small steps toward the change and think this can lead to a healthier life.
- Action: People have recently changed their behavior (within the last 6 months) and intend to keep moving forward with it. They now have healthier habits.
- Maintenance: People have sustained their behavior change for over 6 months and they are working to prevent relapses.
- Termination: People have no desire to return to their unhealthy behaviors and they know they won't relapse.
We can see that in the contemplation stage, people still feel ambivalent towards the idea of changing their behavior (and therefore there's no action yet) but they intend to change this behavior within the next 6 months.
Thus, we can say that if a person doesn't exercise (and therefore there's no action) but are thinking of becoming more active in the next six months (intend to change their behavior), this person would be in the stage of contemplation.
Michael Jordan, the former NBA star, has homes in Florida and North Carolina. He has become a bit of a real estate tycoon since retiring, buying up mostly foreclosed homes
His home in Charlotte, N.C., which he purchased in 2013, is a huge, water-front property with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms. It is located by Lake Norman, measures 12,310-square feet and cost $2.8 million. This property allows Michael Jordan to be closer to his basketball team, the Bobcats.
Michael Jordan has also built his dream family home, which is a three-story mansion on a three-acre piece of land in Jupiter, Fla. It is thought to be the most expensive non-waterfront home in the Palm Beaches, having cost $4.8 million for the land and $168 million for the construction of the property.
Jordan also owns a luxury condo in Charlotte, N.C. and a property in Salt Lake City. He has sold his Chicago mansion for $29 million.
