<h3>Answer:  B.  (5,3)</h3>

How to get this answer:

x+y = 8 solves to y = -x+8 after isolating y. You subtract x from both sides.

Plug this into the second equation and solve for x

3x + 2y = 21

3x + 2( y ) = 21

3x + 2( -x+8 ) = 21 ... replace y with -x+8

3x - 2x + 16 = 21

x + 16 = 21

x = 21-16

x = 5

Use this to find y

y = -x+8

y = -5+8

y = 3

We have x = 5 and y = 3 pair up to get the ordered pair solution (5,3)

kirza4 [7]

just like the previous one, we sum the sides to get the perimeter.

\bf (x)+(x+7)+(2x-8)=47\implies 4x-1=47\implies 4x=48\\\\\\x=\cfrac{48}{4}\implies x=12

Which statements are true for the given quadrilaterals? Choose all answers that are correct. A. All trapezoids are quadrilateral
svetlana [45]
Trapezoids always have 4 sides, so this is true. All rhombuses have parallel sides, so B is true also. A trapezoid has two sides that are not parallel, so C is not true. (remember, you only have to find one instance where your statement is false for it to be false) And for D, all rhombuses are kite-shaped so D is not true. A and B are true. Hope this helps. :)
