Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Write the correct equation. Combined variation problems are solved using a combination of direct variation (y = kx), inverse variation Inverse, and joint variation (y = kxz) equations. When dealing with word problems, you should consider using variables other than x, y, and z, you should use variables that are relevant to the problem being solved. Also read the problem carefully to determine if there are any other changes in the combined variation equation, such as squares, cubes, or square roots.

Step 2: Use the information given in the problem to find the value of k, called the constant of variation or the constant of proportionality.

Step 3: Rewrite the equation from step 1 substituting in the value of k found in step 2.

Step 4: Use the equation found in step 3 and the remaining information given in the problem to answer the question asked. When solving word problems, remember to include units in your final answer.

Example 1 – If y varies directly as x and inversely as z, and y = 24 when x = 48 and z = 4, find x when y = 44 and z = 6.

Step 1: Write the correct equation. Combined variation problems are solved using a combination of variation equations. In this case we will combine the direct and inverse variation equations.

Step 1

Step 2: Use the information given in the problem to find the value of k. In this case, you need to find k when x = 48, y = 24, and z = 4.

Step 2

Step 3: Rewrite the equation from step 1 substituting in the value of k found in step 2.

Step 3

Step 4: Use the equation found in step 3 and the remaining information given in the problem to answer the question asked. In this case, you need to find x when y = 44 and z = 6.

Step 4

Example 2 – If f varies directly as g and inversely as the square of h, and f = 20 when g = 50 and h = 5, find f when g = 18 and h = 6.

Answer:

3. Option No. 2:

6x + 2y = 22

3x + 3y = 18

4. Option No. 2:

$2.50

Step by step explanation:

4. 6x + 2y = 22

(3x + 3y = 18) * 2

- Negate

6x + 2y = 22

6x + 6y = 36

2y - 6y = 22 - 36

-4y = -14

y = -14/-4

y = 3.5

An order of onion rings = $3.50

- Substitute to find for x

6x + 2(3.5) = 22

6x + 7 = 22

6x = 22 - 7

6x = 15

x = 15/6

x = 2.5

An order of French fries = $2.50

According to the manufacturer of a backup UPS device, the normal output voltage is 120 volts. The sample of 40 measured voltage
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

z = 1.83<1.96

null hypothesis is accepted

The sample is came from a population mean

Step-by-step explanation:

Step :-1

The sample of 40 measured voltage amounts from a unit have a mean of 123.59 volts and a standard deviation of 0.31 volts

given sample size n =40

mean of the sample ×⁻ = 123.59 volts

standard deviation of sample σ = 0.31 volts

Step2:-

Null hypothesis :-

the sample is from a population with a mean equal to 120 volts.

H₀ : μ =120

Alternative hypothesis:-

H₁ : μ ≠120

level of significance:- α =0.05

Step 3:-

The test statistic

z = \frac{x_{-}-mean }{\frac{S.D}{\sqrt{n} } }

substitute values and simplification

z = \frac{123.59-120}{\frac{0.31}{\sqrt{40} } }

on simplification we get the calculated value

z = 1.83

The tabulated value z =1.96 at 0.05 % level of significance

Conclusion:-

Calculated Z < The tabulated value z =1.96 at 0.05 % level of significance

so the null hypothesis is accepted

The sample is came from a population mean

Karins mom runs a dairy farm. Last year Betty the cow gave 375 gallons less than twice the amount from Bessie the cow. Together,
yawa3891 [41]
X = bessie and y = betty

x + y = 1464
y = 2x - 375

x + 2x - 375 = 1464
3x - 375 = 1464
3x = 1464 + 375
3x = 1839
x = 1839/3
x = 613 <== Bessie gave 613 gallons

y = 2x - 375
y = 2(613) - 375
y = 1226 - 375
y = 851 <== Betty gave 851 gallons

You will have to multiply 80 and the percentage. First you will have to change the percentage to a decimal which in this case it will be 0.39 ( for the first one) so then multiply it so it will be 80x0.39=31.2 and you will do the same with the others just replace the numbers with the one that you are doing hope this helps.

PLEASE HELP!!!
If m<B=m<D=42 find m<c so that quadrilateral ABCD is a parallelogram
MissTica
The oposite angles must be equal and adjacent angles must be supplementary

so
D=B and A=C
and
A+D=180=A+B=B+C=C+D
so ifD=42, then

A+D=180
A+42=180
minus 42 both sides
A=138=C

angle C has to be 138 degrees
