Given that system of equations are:

$y = \frac{-2}{3}x$  ------- eqn 1

$4x - 9y=-40$ ------ eqn 2

We have to solve the above given system of equations and find the x - coordinate

Substitute eqn 1 in eqn 2 and solve for "x"

$4x - 9(\frac{-2}{3}x) = -40\\\\4x + \frac{18x}{3} = -40\\\\12x + 18x = -120\\\\30x = -120\\\\x = \frac{-120}{30} = -4$

x = -4

Thus the x-coordinate in the solution of the system of equations is -4
