The distribution of cities in Saudi Arabia reflects the difficulties that this country (and the region at large) has in obtaining resources. The geography of Saudi Arabia is characterized by a dry, arid climate that is not conducive to agriculture. Therefore, most cities are located in regions where resources such as water and fertile soil are easier to find.
