Well if three of them end up with the same lunch box and there are only 4 total lunch boxes, then that means all of them would get their original lunchbox.

For that to happen there is a 1/4 chance for each person to correctly pick their lunchboxes.

So it’s 1/4*1/4*1/4*1/4 and that equals to 1/256.

So there is a 1/256 chance that they will end up with their original lunch box.

Hope this helps!

Answer:

f(x) = x^2 , x < 2

f(x) = 5, 2\leq x < 4

Step-by-step explanation:

We have a parabola and a small line shown in the graph.

The parabola goes upto x = 2 but does not reach that very value. So x = 2 starts on the line above where x = 2 and ends just before x = 4.

Therefore, this function can be modeled by:

f(x) = x^2 , x < 2

f(x) = 5, 2\leq x < 4
