The track has a circumference of 400 m. This is the distance traveled per lap.
Because the person made 8 laps, the total distance traveled is
8 * 400 = 3200 m

The time taken for the  8 laps is 14.0 min = 14*60 = 840 s.

The average velocity
= distance/time
= (3200 m)/(840 s)
= 3.8095 m/s

Answer: 3.8 m/s (nearest tenth)

What is true about semiconductors?
Iteru [2.4K]

In semiconductors, you can change how easily electrons move through them. That is option 2.

<h3>What are semiconductors?</h3><h3 />

Semiconductors is defined as those substances that possess the characteristics of both metal and non metal.

Examples of semiconductors include the silicon, germanium, and gallium arsenide elements.

The semiconductors are able to conduct electricity through the presence of electrons and holes in them.

The movement of these electrons can be controlled through the addition of impurities to the semiconductor material.

Therefore, in semiconductors, you can change how easily electrons move through them.

A 3.5 kW drill transfers 5 000 kJ of kinetic energy during 15 seconds of use. What is the percentage efficiency of the drill?
Marizza181 [45]

Answer:

1.04%

Explanation:

Given that,

The power of drill = 3.5 kW = 3500 W

Transferred kinetic energy = 5000 kJ during 15 seconds of use.

We need to find the percentage efficiency of the drill. It can be given by :

\eta=\dfrac{P_o}{P_i}\times 100

Where

Po and Pi are output and input powers.

P_o=\dfrac{5000\times 10^3}{15}\\\\=3.34\times 10^5\ W

So,

\eta=\dfrac{3500}{3.34\times10^{5}}\times100\\\\=1.04\%

So, the percentage efficiency of the drill is 1.04%.

A car enters a freeway with a speed of 6.5 m/s and accelerates to a speed of 24 m/s in 3.5 min. How far does the car travel whil
Vesna [10]

Explanation:

<u>Using Equations of Motion</u> :

(1) v = u + at

24 = 6.5 + a * 210

<u>a (Acceleration) = 0.083 m/s^2 </u>

<u>(</u><u>2</u><u>)</u><u> </u> v^2 = u^2 + 2aS

S = 576 - 42.25 / 0.166

<u>S (Distance travelled) = 3215.3 m </u>

(Option A seems a typo since the answer is 3215.3 m)
