Hey,

So if we have the smaller number as X then then the second number is twice X plus 66 right?
In algebraic form we can right this as x and 2X+66. OK?( 2 X means 2 multiplied by X)
So we know that the first number plus the second number 3636 right?
That means X(the smaller number) +2X+66 is 3636.
No we have a equation to solve.
X+2X+66=3636.
We can add 2X and the X together to get 3X right?
So we have 3X+66=3636.
And we want to get rid of the 66 OK?
So we have to minus the 66 form that side.Because we have minused 66 from one side we must minus 66 from the other side too.

So we now have 3X+66-66=3636-66.
And we we take away the 66 we are left with:
3X=3570.

Now we know that three times the number is 3570 right?
All we need to do know is divide 3570/3 and we get 1190.

Now we knew that the smaller number is 1190 right?
So the other number must be twice it and plus 66 which is 2446.

We can also check to get the answer of 3636

Hope this helps

(2x+66)+x=3636
2x+x+66=3636
3x+66=3636
3x=3636-66
3x=3570÷3
x=1190
2(1190)+66=2446
the two numbers are 1190 and 2446

Write each equation in standard form using integers?

y = 3x + 1

y = 4x - 7
Maru [420]

Answer:

The standard form of y = 3 x + 1 is         -3x + y = 1 .

The standard form of y  = 4x - 7 is         -4x + y = -7.

Step-by-step explanation:

Here the given equation are:

y = 3 x + 1

and y  = 4x - 7

The above equations are of the form:  y = m x + C

Now, the STANDARD FORM of the equation is Ax + By = C

Consider equation 1:

y = 3 x + 1

or, y - 3x  = 1

or. -3x + y = 1

⇒ The equation  -3x + y = 1  is in STANDARD FORM.

Consider equation 2:

y = 4 x - 7

or, y - 4x  = -7

or. -4x + y = -7

⇒ The equation -4x + y = -7 is in STANDARD FORM.

Can you please help asap
dybincka [34]
For question 38 it would be C. -38 because -38 - 7 is -45 and -45 divided by 9 is -5.

Question 35 would be B. 4/5 because 80% converted into a decimal is 4/5.

Hope these helped!! :)
