I believe it’s C, 21 divided by 7. This one doesn’t leave any extra mugs out cause 21 divided by 7 is 3, leaving 7 mugs per 3 shelves and having none left.

Find the volume of a trough 5 meters long whose ends are equilateral triangles, each of whose
yawa3891 [41]

Answer:

V=5\sqrt{3}\ m^3

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The volume of a trough is equal to

V=BL

where

B is the area of equilateral triangle

L is the length of a trough

step 1

Find the area of  equilateral triangle B

The area of a equilateral triangle applying the law of sines is equal to

B=\frac{1}{2} b^{2} sin(60\°)

where

b=2\ m

sin(60\°)=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}

substitute

B=\frac{1}{2}(2)^{2} (\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2})

B=\sqrt{3}\ m^{2}

step 2

Find the volume of a trough

V=BL

we have

B=\sqrt{3}\ m^{2}

L=5\ m

substitute

V=(\sqrt{3})(5)

V=5\sqrt{3}\ m^3

Answer:

Median= 38

Step-by-step explanation:

First, put the order of numbers in least to greatest.

Next, Find the number(s) that are in the middle and add them together.

Then, divide them by 2 which gives you the answer of 38.

The scores on the LSAT are approximately normal with mean of 150.7 and standard deviation of 10.2. (Source: www.lsat.org.) Queen
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

a=150.7 -0.385*10.2=146.773

So the value of height that separates the bottom 35% of data from the top 65% (Or the 35 percentile) is 146.7.

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Previous concepts

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

The Z-score is "a numerical measurement used in statistics of a value's relationship to the mean (average) of a group of values, measured in terms of standard deviations from the mean".

2) Solution to the problem

Let X the random variable that represent the  scores on the LSAT of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X \sim N(150.7,10.2)

Where \mu=150.7 and \sigma=10.2

We want to find a value a, such that we satisfy this condition:

P(X>a)=0.65   (a)

P(X   (b)

Both conditions are equivalent on this case. We can use the z score again in order to find the value a.

As we can see on the figure attached the z value that satisfy the condition with 0.35 of the area on the left and 0.65 of the area on the right it's z=-0.385. On this case P(Z<-0.385)=0.35 and P(Z>-0.385)=0.65

If we use condition (b) from previous we have this:

P(X

P(z

But we know which value of z satisfy the previous equation so then we can do this:

Z=-0.385

And if we solve for a we got

a=150.7 -0.385*10.2=146.773

So the value of height that separates the bottom 35% of data from the top 65% (Or the 35 percentile) is 146.7.

A semicircle has the radius of 2 4/5. What is its area? leave your answers in term of π
Ratling [72]

Answer:

11\dfrac{13}{25}\pi

Step-by-step explanation:

r = Radius of semicircle = 2\dfrac{4}{5}=\dfrac{24}{5}\ \text{units}

Area of semicircle is given by

A=\dfrac{\pi r^2}{2}\\\Rightarrow A=\dfrac{\pi \left(\dfrac{24}{5}\right)^2}{2}\\\Rightarrow A=\dfrac{288}{25}\pi=11\dfrac{13}{25}\pi\ \text{sq. units}

The area of the semicircle is 11\dfrac{13}{25}\pi\ \text{sq. units}.
