The tub of a washer goes into its spin-dry cycle, starting from rest and reaching an angular speed of 5.0 rev/s in 9.0 s. At thi

s point, the person doing the laundry opens the lid, and a safety switch turns off the washer. The tub slows to rest in 15.0 s. Through how many revolutions does the tub turn during this 24 s interval? Assume constant angular acceleration while it is starting and stopping.

Answer

given,

angular speed of the tub = 5 rev/s

time = 9 s

he tub slows to rest  =  15.0 s

the angular acceleration

\omega_f - \omega_i = \alpha t

\alpha = \dfrac{5-0}{9}

\alpha = 0.556 rev/s^2

angular displacement

\theta_1 = \omega_i \ t + \dfrac{1}{2}\alpha t^2

\theta_1 = \dfrac{1}{2}\times 0.556 \times 9^2

\theta_1 = 22.52 rev

\theta_1 = 23 rev

case 2

now,

\omega_i = 5 rev/s

\omega_f = 0 rev/s

time = 15 s

the angular acceleration

\omega_f - \omega_i = \alpha t

\alpha = \dfrac{0-5}{15}

v\alpha =-0.333 rev/s^2

angular displacement

\theta_2 = \omega_i \ t + \dfrac{1}{2}\alpha t^2

\theta_2 =5\times 15 -\dfrac{1}{2}\times 0.333 \times 15^2

\theta_2 = 37.875 rev

\theta_2 =38 rev

total revolution in 24 s

= 23 + 38

= 62 revolution

dlinn [17]

A point charge is located at the origin of a coordinate system. A positive charge is brought in from infinity to a point. The charges are at distance for given electrical potential energy is 3.34 x  10⁷ m.

<h3>What is electric potential energy?</h3>

The electric potential energy is the work done by a test charge to bring it from infinity to a particular location.

The electric potential energy is given by the relation,

V = kQ/r

where k = 9 x 10⁹ J.m/C ,Q = 3 x 10⁻⁹ C, V =8.09 × 10⁻⁷ J.

Substitute the values into the expression to get the distance between the charges.

8.09 × 10⁻⁷ =  9 x 10⁹ x  3 x 10⁻⁹ / r

r =3.34 x  10⁷ m

Thus, the distance between the charges will be 3.34 x  10⁷ m.

A bald eagle is flying to the left with a speed of 34 meters
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

the speed after 3 seconds is 10 m/s

Explanation:

The computation of the speed is shown below:

As we know that

V = U  + at

Here,

U = 34 m/s

a =  - 8 m/s²

t = 3 Sec

V = velocity after 3 sec

V  = 34 + (-8)3

 = 34 - 24

 V = 10 m/s

Hence, the speed after 3 seconds is 10 m/s

A wave of wavelength 0.3 m travels 900 m in 3.0 s. Calculate its frequency.
zzz [600]

Answer:

1000 Hz

Explanation:

<em>The frequency would be 1000 Hz.</em>

The frequency, wavelength, and speed of a wave are related by the equation:

<em>v = fλ ..................(1)</em>

where v = speed of the wave, f = frequency of the wave, and λ = wavelength of the wave.

Making f the subject of the formula:

<em>f = v/λ.........................(2)</em>

Also, speed (v) = distance/time.

From the question, distance = 900 m, time = 3.0 s

Hence, v = 900/3.0 = 300 m/s

Substitute v = 300 and λ = 0.3  into equation (2):

f = 300/0.3 = 1000 Hz
