Answer:

The two boats are 323.72 m apart.

Step-by-step explanation:

See the attached diagram.

B is the point of observation and AB is the height of the parasailer i.e. 75 m.

Now, from the right triangle Δ ABC,

\tan 79^{\circ} = \frac{AB}{AC} = \frac{75}{AC}

⇒ AC = 14.58 meters.

Again, from the right triangle Δ ABD,

\tan 12.5^{\circ} = \frac{AB}{AD} = \frac{75}{AD}

⇒ AD = 338.30 meters.

Hence, CD = AD - AC = 338.30 - 14.58 = 323.72 m

Therefore, the two boats are 323.72 m apart. (Answer)

Let, the time when <span>Jan cough up to Carol = x

We know, Distance = Speed * Time.

So, Equation would be: 2x + 5*2 = 6x

2x + 10 = 6x

6x - 2x = 10

4x = 10

x = 10/4 = 2.5

Distance traveled in that time = 2.5 * 6 = 15 miles

In short, Your Answer would be: 15 miles

Hope this helps!</span>

A 75 inch pipe is cut into two peices. One peice is two times the length of the other find the length of the shorter pipe
lesya692 [45]
I could be very wrong but I believe it’s 25

You can divide 75 by 3 and that will give you 25 and if the pieces were even they would be 37.5 but the shorter one is 2 times shorter

PLEASE HELP!!!
Afina-wow [57]

Answer:

I think you mispelled something there... if the system of equation involves 2x-3, the answer is x = 6/5 and y = -27/5

Step-by-step explanation:

- 7x+3 = -2x-3

1. move -3 to the other side (so add it on both sides)

  • 7x+3+3 = -2x
  • 7x+6 = -2x

2. move 7x to the other side (in order to combine like terms)

  • 6 = 7x -2x
  • 6= 5x

3. Solve for x (Divide 5 by both systems)

  • 6/5 = x

4. Plug x into one of the equations to find y

  • 2 * (6/5) -3 = -27/5
  • y = -27/5

Matt's family traveled 3/8 of the distance to his grandmother’s house on Saturday. They traveled 3/5 of the remaining distance o
Elanso [62]

Answer:

3/8

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's use a sample number of 100 miles

If 3/8 was traveled the first day, then 37.5m were traveled on the first day.

Now on Sunday, there are 62.5m remaining in the trip. They travel 3/5 of that, meaning they went 62.5 * 3/5m. This turns out to be 37.5 miles that were traveled on Sunday.

37.5/100 = 3.8
