Number of games they won: W
Number of games they lost: L

They played 60 games:
(1) W+L=60

They won 24 more than they lost:
(2) W=L+24

We have a system ofr 2 equations and 2 unkowns:
(1) W+L=60
(2) W=L+24

Using the method of substitution. Replacing W by L+24 in the first equation:
(1) W+L=60
(L+24)+L=60
L+24+L=60
2L+24=60

Solving for L
2L+24-24=60-24
2L=36

Dividing both sides of the equation by 2:
2L/2=36/2
L=18

Replacing L by 18 in the second equation:
(2) W=L+24
W=18+24
W=42

Answers:
How many games did they win?  42
How many games did they lost?  18

Periodic grab some phase shifts
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

The sine function is:

y(x)=\frac{2}{3}sin[3\pi (x-\frac{2\pi}{3})]-2

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to recall that a sine function can write as:

y(x)=Asin[B(x+C)]+D

Where:

  • A is the amplitude of the function
  • B is the period
  • C is the phase shift left
  • D is the vertical shift

So we just need to use the listed attributes

Therefore, the sine function is:

y(x)=\frac{2}{3}sin[3\pi (x-\frac{2\pi}{3})]-2

I hope it helps you!

Anne has 8 unmarked computer disks in a box, where each is dedicated to exactly one of English, Spanish, Mathematics, compute
slavikrds [6]

Answer:

The correct answer is 0.125.

Step-by-step explanation:

Anne has 8 unmarked computer disks in a box, namely one of English, Spanish, Mathematics, computer science, biology, SAT preparation, college applications, and American history.

Let the experiment be to pick up the SAT preparation disk from this set of 8 disk

Possible outcome is only one as there is only one SAT preparation disk.

Total number of outcomes, i.e. total number of disks available is 8.

Probability of picking of SAT preparation disk is

Probability = \frac{possible outcomes}{All outcomes} =  \frac{1}{8}.
