Mass of block, m = 5.26 lb
1 lb = 453.592 g
 5.26 lb = 2385.896 g
V = 14 in3
 1 in = 2.5 cm
 1 in3 = 15.625 cm3
 14 in3 = 218.75 cm3

Density = mass/volume
 = 2358.896 / 218.75
 = 10.783 g/cm3

Answer : The density of metal is 10.399g/cm^3

Explanation :

Density : It is defined as the mass of a substance contained per unit volume.

Formula used :

Density=\frac{Mass}{Volume}

Given:

Mass of metal = 5.26 lb = 2385.896 g

conversion used : (1 lb = 453.592 g)

Volume of metal = 14.0inch^3=229.419cm^3

conversion used : (1inch^3=16.3871cm^3)

By using formula, we get:

Density=\frac{2385.896g}{229.419cm^3}

Density=10.399g/cm^3

Thus, the density of metal is 10.399g/cm^3

Using molecular orbital theory, explain why the removal of one electron in O2 strengthens bonding, while the removal of one elec
Nuetrik [128]
First you have a knowledge of bond order which is
 B.O=(no. of electrons in bonding orbital - no. of electrons in non-bonding orbital)÷2
Note:
bond strength is directly proportional to bond order.
For oxygen:
B.O=(6-2)/2= 2; after the removal of two electrons(removal occur from non-bonding orbital)
B.O=(6-0)/2= 3 (As B.O increased bond strength increased)
For Nitrogen:
B.O=(6-0)/2= 3; after the removal of two electrons(removal occur from bonding orbital)
B.O=(4-0)/2= 2 (As B.O decreased bond strength decreased)
