From left to right the electronegativity increases

Answer:

In general, electronegativity values increase from left to right, excluding the noble gases (Group 18). We know that Group 1 elements easily lose electrons to reach a stable (noble gas) configuration. So it makes sense that they have low electronegativity values. Group 17 elements, on the other hand, easily attract electrons. Their high electronegativity values reflect this behavior.

If i have 4 moles of a gas ata pressure of 5.2 atm and a volume of 15 liters, what is the temperature?
kompoz [17]

Answer:

237.5 K.

Explanation:

  • We can use the general law of ideal gas: <em>PV = nRT. </em>

where, P is the pressure of the gas in atm (P = 5.2 atm).

V is the volume of the gas in L (V = 15.0 L).

n is the no. of moles of the gas in mol (n = 4.0 mol).

R is the general gas constant (R = 0.0821 L.atm/mol.K),

T is the temperature of the gas in K (T = ??? K).

∴ T = PV/nR = (5.2 atm)(15.0 L)/(4.0 mol)(0.0821 L.atm/mol.K) = 237.5 K.

A student has two identical glasses of milk except that the temperature of the milk in one glass is 40ºF
kiruha [24]

80ºF.

Explanation:

At a temperature of  80ºF, the milk has the highest thermal energy.

The thermal energy in a body increases as the temperature of the body increases.

To increase the temperature of a body, heat is a supplied to it or work is done on it.

  • Heat is a form of thermal energy.
  • As the heat increases, the particles of the milk gains more kinetic energy.
  • This forces them to move more faster.
  • A body with a higher temperature has more thermal energy.

A saturated solution of barium fluoride, BaF2BaF2, was prepared by dissolving solid BaF2BaF2 in water. The concentration of Ba2+
babunello [35]

Answer: 1.70\times 10^{-6}

Explanation:

Solubility product is defined as the equilibrium constant in which a solid ionic compound is dissolved to produce its ions in solution. It is represented as

The equation for the ionization of the BaF_2 is given as:

BaF_2\rightarrow Ba^{2+}+2F^-

When the solubility of BaF_2 is S moles/liter, then the solubility of Ba^{2+}  will be S moles/liter and solubility of F^- will be 2S moles/liter.

By stoichiometry of the reaction:

1 mole of BaF_2 gives 1 mole of Ba^{2+ and 2 moles of F^-

K_{sp}=[Ba^{2+}][F^{-}]^2

K_{sp}=s\times (2s)^2

K_{sp}=4\times (7.52\times 10^{-3})^3

K_{sp}=1.70\times 10^{-6}

Thus K_{sp} for BaF_2 is 1.70\times 10^{-6}
