(1/2)+(2/3)
make bottom number same to add because
\frac{a}{y} + \frac{b}{y} = \frac{a+b}{y}
remember that we don't want to change the numbers
when you mulitply by x/x where x=x, then that is the same number
example
1/2 times 2/2=2/4
so 1/2=2/4

ok

1/2 and 2/3
bottom number is 2 and 3
2 times 3=6

so make bottom number 6
what you multiply bottom number by, you also multiply top number

1/2
2 times 3=6
1/2 times 3/3=3/6

2/3
3 times 2=6
2/3 times 2/2=4/6

now we got
\frac{3}{6} + \frac{4}{6} = \frac{3+4}{6} = \frac{7}{6}=1 and 1/6

How do i put this into words please help
Serjik [45]
Hello,

This is simple :)

<span>First divide:

How many times does 16 go into 7? : 0

7 GOES into 16, 0 times, now we have ; 0.

Next, multiply 16(0):0

Now, subtract 7-0

=7

Bring 0 down... so now we have 70... how many times can you divide 16 into 70? : about 4 times.

Now we have: 0.4

Multiple 16 by 4

= 64 : SUBTRACT 64 from 70

=60

Bring Down: 0; this gives us 60.

Divide:

How many times can 16 go into 60? : About 7 times

No we have : 0.437..

Bring down 0; gives us 600: how many times can 16 go into 600?: About 5 times.

Now, we have 0.4375.

Thus, 7/16 = 0.4375.

PLEASE HELP! Will mark brainliest!
Stells [14]

Answer:

x = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

This is special right triangles

For the triangle on the bottom, the shorter leg is x, the longer leg is x * √3, and the hypotenuse is x *2. This means that the shorter leg is 2 since you the longer leg is that side multiplied by √3. The hypotenuse is x *2, which is 2 * 2 which equals 4.

Now we have one side of the bigger triangle. This triangle is a 45-45-90 triangle, and the rule is that the two legs are x, and the hypotenuse is x *2. Since we found a leg and not the hypotenuse of the bigger triangle, and the two legs are congruent, that means x is 4.
