The data suggests that there is no change in height of sheep because of

Hardy Weinberg equillibrium.

Explanation:

Data given:

heights of 200 sheeps remains the same for two years.

reason=?

There is no change in the phenotype of the sheep population during two years as there is no effect of environmental factors, no evolution or genetic drift in the population. Such population happens due to Hardy Weinberg equillibrium.

This principle says that there will be no genetic variation in a population when no evolution causing factors are there. These factors are environmental, mutation, genetic drift, natural selection or gene flow.  When no new alleles are added in the population it remains same.

Thus in case of the 200 sheeps it is assumed that they were in Hardy Weinberg equillibrium.

Answer:

The process of natural selection acts on height only in male sheep. this scenario may be cause by sexual selection . females are choosing taller mates for reproduction , leading to an increased likelihood that their offspring will inherit these genes.

horsena [70]

Answer:

a.Many mitochondrial genes resemble proteobacteria genes, while the genes in the chloroplast resemble genes found in some photosynthetic bacteria.

c.Mitochondria and chloroplasts both have their own circular DNA and 70S ribosomes that are similar to those found in bacteria.

d.Mitochondria and chloroplasts replicate by a process similar to mitosis.

Explanation:

Endosymbiotic theory states that mitochondria and chloroplast which are organelles of eukaryotic cells were once independently living micro-organisms but with due course of time eukaryotic cells engulfed them and they become an integral part of these eukaryotic cells.

The resemblance between mitochondrial genes with those of proteobacteria and chloroplast genes with photosynthetic bacteria strongly support endosymbiotic theory. Apart from this, the presence of their own DNA that too circular just like prokaryotic microbes and 70 S ribosomes also support this theory. Also just like prokaryotic cells, before cell division mitochondria and chloroplasts undergo replication by means of a process known as binary fission.

3. Why is it easy to describe an organism's phenotype for a particular characteristic but
JulsSmile [24]

Answer:

The sum of an organism's observable characteristics is their phenotype. A key difference between phenotype and genotype is that, whilst genotype is inherited from an organism's parents, the phenotype is not. Whilst a phenotype is influenced the genotype, genotype does not equal phenotype

How does Glucose get into the cell?
Alex_Xolod [135]

Glucose gets into the cells through a process called facilitated diffusion. This is a transport mechanism in which carrier proteins shuttle molecules across the cell membrane without using the cell's energy supplies and so it is called passive transport. The carrier proteins bind to  glucose, which causes them to change shape and translocate the glucose from outside of the cell membrane and into the cell.

(a) glucose is important because it is the primary source of energy for the cell.

(b) Glucose is  6 - carbon monomer of  starch. It is a sugar.

(c) Glucose is broken down to pyruvate through the process of glycolysis.
