A scientist conducted an investigation about the effects of diet on disease resistance in mice and made surprising observations.

Explanation:

When there is alteration in the DNA sequence in the chromosomes of an organisms which affects the protein expression and therefore the organism involved,the genetic condition is called mutation. its effects can be positive or negative,But,negative effects is most common.

It can be germline in which the genes is affected,or somatic in which the protein expression of the body cell is affected.

Answer:

The fact that the mice with genetic mutation shows similar patterns of inheritance show that some genes in the mice might be playing a dominant role in  diseases resistance in this animals.This is evident since the patterns were peculiar to  mice with mutated ears,and not observed in normal ears.

Therefore the experiment should be carried out again to confirm the influence of these genes on the resistance
