Lets take (-4) - (-6)
= -4 + 6 (here we changed the sign because in integers when you are subtracting an integer, we put its opposite..thats the rule .)
            =. -4 + 6 = 2

so here we got the answer as 2 .....this shows that your answer will be less than the integer you started with ....this is because here in subtraction we will first change the sign and then follow the same rules of addition ...so here if both the numbers have opposite signs then we subtract and put the greater number sign .....

u can look this up here on brainly for an answer source if you want but do the one that has the greatest points... its on google
Alla [95]

Answer:

First one is 41

Second one is 87

Step-by-step explanation:

Make the shaded part as a trapezoid which is (3+6)*10/2 you just have to get rid of 2*2. So you get 41 as the answer.

The unshaded part will be 16*8 then subtracts the shaded part which is 41. Then you get the answer 87.

One more than the difference between 18 and seven times in number is -9
almond37 [142]
18-7n+1= -9

You just have to ignore the first thing it asks for, and then write out what it's saying. Since it's asking for the difference, you have to subtract what it tells you to. In this case they are asking for you to subtract 7 times a number from 18 which is the same as writing 18-7n. Then, go back to the first thing it asks for and that wants you to add one. You now have this: 18-7n+1. Now all you have to do is set it equal to whatever it asks you for, which is -9. The final product should look like this:

18-7n+1= -9

I hope this helps and if you could let me know if I helped, that would be greatly appreciated!
