The statement is true.

Explanation:

Barack Hussein Obama II is an American politician who was the 44th President of the United States. He is the first African American president in US history.

On February 10, 2007, in Springfield, Illinois, Obama announced that he was running for Democrats in the 2008 presidential election. As President, Obama has signed the economic stimulus legislation in the form of the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009" and the Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 in response to the financial and economic crisis. Other major domestic policy initiatives include the introduction of health care reform in the United States. In foreign policy, Obama joined the US military intervention in the Iraq war, increased the military forces in Afghanistan, signed with Russia the "START" treaty on arms control, ordered US military intervention in Libya and ordered the military operation in Pakistan which resulted in Osama bin Laden death. In May 2012, Obama became the first US president to publicly announce that he supports gay marriage.

A survey is sent out to a sample of voters about an upcoming election via text messaging. Do you think this will produce an unbi
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

In a statistical study, sampling methods refer to how we select members from the population to be in the study.

If a sample isn't randomly selected, it will probably be biased in some way and the data may not be representative of the population.

There are many ways to select a sample some good and some bad.

Convenience sample: The researcher chooses a sample that is readily available in some non-random way.

Example—A researcher polls people as they walk by on the street.

Why it's probably biased: The location and time of day and other factors may produce a biased sample of people.

Voluntary response sample: The researcher puts out a request for members of a population to join the sample, and people decide whether or not to be in the sample.

Example—A TV show host asks his viewers to visit his website and respond to an online poll.

Why it's probably biased: People who take the time to respond tend to have similarly strong opinions compared to the rest of the population.
