New roads and canals being constructed, silk road, and grand canal all belong in “trade and economy increased” and the Confucianism thing would be “social harmony” :)
The similarity is that both are a Plateau: a vast area located relatively high, but which is rather even (this distinguishes it from a mountain range).
The differences are:
-while Atacama is barely populated, the Altiplato has a number of cities, such as Cuzco
-The Atacama receives less precipitation than Altiplato
It was a manufacturing center
It was a transportation hub
It was located on the Mississippi
