Simply put, artificial intelligence refers to a computer system that is capable of carrying out a task that requires human intelligence.  Some of the computers or machines are powered by machine learning, some are powered by deep learning, while some are powered by rules.

The field has been defined by many books as the study of intelligence agents. Intelligence agents are any device that can take actions based on the response to its environment to effectively carry out a particular task.

Since it was founded as an academic discipline, it has experienced several challenges. There have been a disappointment and lack of funding to carry out more research on AI
