A 96-mH solenoid inductor is wound on a form 0.80 m in length and 0.10 m in diameter. A coil is tightly wound around the solenoi

d at its center. The coil's resistance is 9.9 ohms. The mutual inductance of the coil and solenoid is 31 μH. At a given instant, the current in the solenoid is 540 mA, and is decreasing at the rate of 2.5 A/s. At the given instant, what is the magnitude of the induced current in the coil? (μ0 = 4π × 10-7 T ∙ m/A)

Answer:

i = 7.83 \mu A

Explanation:

Induced EMF in the coil is given by the equation

EMF = M\frac{di}{dt}

so we have

M = 31 \mu H

also we know that rate of change in current in solenoid is given as

\frac{di}{dt} = 2.5 A/s

so induced EMF of coil is given as

EMF = (31 \times 10^{-6})(2.5)

EMF = 77.5 \times 10^{-6} A/s

now induced current in the coil will be given as

i = \frac{EMF}{R}

i = \frac{77.5 \times 10^{-6}}{9.9}

i = 7.83 \mu A

what are the various ways in which lithospheric plates interact with each other as they move around on a dynamic earth??
Ivan
The plates make up Earth's outer shell, called the lithosphere. (This includes the crust and uppermost part of the mantle.) Churning currents in the molten rocks below propel them along like a jumble of conveyor belts in disrepair. Most geologic activity stems from the interplay where the plates meet or divide.

Fifty grams of ice at 0◦ C is placed in a thermos bottle containing one hundred grams of water
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

7.55 g

Explanation:

Given that:

Heat of fusion = 333kj/kg

Heat capacity, c = 4190 j/kg /k

The Number of grams of ice that will melt can be represented as y:

Number of grams of ice that will melt * heat of fusion = specific heat capacity * temperature change

y * 333 * 10^3 J = (4190) * (6 - 0)

333000y = 25140

y = 25140 / 333000

y = 0.0754954 kg

y = 0.0754954 * 100

y = 7.549 g

Hence, Number of grams of ice that will melt = 7.55 g

How do i figure out the net force of an object? explain please :)
Savatey [412]
Draw a free body diagram to help you visualize. draw the object and use arrows to label and determine where all the forces acting upon it will be. then u add up the sum of all forces. if two forces of equal magnitude and opposite directions will cancel each other out.

A 1500 kg car moving with a speed of 20 m/s collides with a utility pole and is brought to rest in 0.30 s. Find the magnitude of
storchak [24]

Answer:

-100000 N.

Explanation:

Force: This can be defined as the product of the mass of a body and it's acceleration. The S.I unit of Force is Newton(N). The Formula of force is given as,

F = ma ........................... Equation 1

Where F = Average force exerted on the car, m = mass of the car, acceleration of the car, a = acceleration of the car.

a = (v-u)/t..................... Equation 2

Where v = Final velocity, u = Initial velocity, t = time.

Substitute equation 2 into equation 1

F = m(v-u)/t............. Equation 3

Given: m = 1500 kg, u = 20 m/s, v = 0 m/s (brought to rest), t = 0.3 s.

Substitute into equation 3

F = 1500(0-20)/0.3

F = 1500(-20)/0.3

F = -100000 N.

Note: The negative sign is due to the fact that the force exerted on the car by the pole is equal and opposite the force of the car.
