Answer:

a. the military-industrial complex.

Explanation:

More than 50 years ago, President Eisenhower was saying goodbye to US citizens. In his last speech, broadcast on radio and television on January 17, 1961, he warned his countrymen about the serious implications of a new conjunction in American history: "the conjunction of a huge military establishment and a large armaments industry," the Industrial-Military Complex.

At the time of the farewell, the country was at the height of the Cold War and was threatened by a power capable of incinerating the American territory in a huge nuclear fire. Military spending at that time, the president said, consumed "more than the net profits of all US corporations." With this budget at the disposal of the Complex, the general spoke of an influence on American society that went beyond the economic and political sphere, even spiritual - an elegant way to say that co-optation corrupted even the soul.

List six (6) characteristics of the "flapper" in the 1920s. 2. what or who does the flapper blame (or give credit) for her exist
faust18 [17]

According to "A Flapper's Appeal to Parents" (1922) by Ellen Welles Page:

1. Bobbed hair, cloche hats, colourful clothing, makeup, short skirts, drinking and smoking.

2. The distrust of her parents, modern education, the Great War, Prohibition, the disillusions of youth.

3. The War tore away the spiritual foundations of the younger generation. It also challenged their faith. It made this generation "older" and more experienced than other generations before them.

4. Part of the reason women become flappers is because of the condemnation and criticism of their parents. Page argues that 1920s parents should understand that the war and Prohibition have altered the way in which young people see the world, and that youth is difficult. They should be understanding and patient. They should also give their children practical aid, advice, confidence and praise.

What are some perspective on the issue increasing minimum driving age
givi [52]
If we increase the minimum driving age we can prevent many issues from forming; like many car accidents caused by inexperienced and young drivers, we can also lower down the drinking and driving cases as teenagers dont take those rules seriously enough. The legal age of driving is not too necessary anymore since there are more schools along with school busses and no one has to walk miles to school anymore.

What is a major function of the president's cabinet members?
Kaylis [27]

Answer:

Of the options presented a major function of the President's cabinet members is D. To oversee the operation of executive departments.

Explanation:

The Cabinet is meant to advise the president on the issues that are relevant to each of their offices.  Like the Secretary of the Treasury, and the Secretary for the Department of the Interior. The president nominates the heads of the executive departments and all other federal agency heads. The nominations are then presented to the Senate that can confirm each appointment by a simple majority. George Washington's cabinet had only 4 secretaries and now there are 23 Cabinet positions including 7 who are cabinet-level officials like the director of the CIA.
