We are given that Kristine spends $20 and saves the rest each time she get paid.

We can use slope-intercept form y=mx+b to represent the equation.

Where x represents the amount Kristine earns and y represents the amount she saves.

Kristine spends $20. Therefore b= -20.

Plugging mx as just x and b=-20.

<h3>y = x-20.</h3><h3>If we plug y=0, we get </h3><h3>0 = x-20</h3><h3>x=20.</h3><h3>We can see in 4th option we have x-intercept =20.</h3><h3>Therefore, correct option is 4th option. </h3><h3 />

Can someone simply explain how to find the area of a triangular prism ? step by step ^^;
Vika [28.1K]
The formula:
A = bh + L (s1 + s2 + s3)

A: area
b: base
h: height
L: length
s1: side 1 (cross-sectional area)
s2: side 2 (cross-sectional area)
s3: side 3 (cross-sectional area)

Here’s an example (see attached image)

A = (4 x 6) + (12 x [7 + 7 + 4])
A = (24) + (12 x 18)
A = 24 + 216
A = 240cm^2

I hope this helped? Comment if you need more explanation or anything!

How do you tell if it's possible to make a triangle out of these side lengths?<br> PLZ HELP!!!!!
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

square root of 73 is about 8.5

square root of 10 is about 3. multiply by 3, you get 9.

square root of 7 is about 2.6. multiply by 5, you get 13.

when determining if you can make a triangle, if all variants of two sides can add up to be greater than the third side, you can make the triangle. so 8.5+9 > 13; 13+9 > 8.5; 13+8.5 > 9. this means it can make a triangle and all you have to do is order the sides.

8.5 is smallest which corresponds to angle c because it's opposite. 9 goes to angle a, then finally 13 goes to angle b. thus, angles c, a, b is the order.

side note: the smallest side length will always correspond with the smallest angle.

hope this helps :)

Can two obtuse angles be complementary
Norma-Jean [14]

Complementary angles are angles that add up to 90 degrees.

Obtuse angles are greater than 90 degrees, so there's no way
to add two of them together and get a sum that's smaller than
either one already is.

The answer to the question is 'No'.

Find all solutions of each equation on the interval 0 ≤ x &lt; 2π.
Korvikt [17]

Answer:

x = 0 or x = \pi.

Step-by-step explanation:

How are tangents and secants related to sines and cosines?

\displaystyle \tan{x} = \frac{\sin{x}}{\cos{x}}.

\displaystyle \sec{x} = \frac{1}{\cos{x}}.

Sticking to either cosine or sine might help simplify the calculation. By the Pythagorean Theorem, \sin^{2}{x} = 1 - \cos^{2}{x}. Therefore, for the square of tangents,

\displaystyle \tan^{2}{x} = \frac{\sin^{2}{x}}{\cos^{2}{x}} = \frac{1 - \cos^{2}{x}}{\cos^{2}{x}}.

This equation will thus become:

\displaystyle \frac{1 - \cos^{2}{x}}{\cos^{2}{x}} \cdot \frac{1}{\cos^{2}{x}} + \frac{2}{\cos^{2}{x}} - \frac{1 - \cos^{2}{x}}{\cos^{2}{x}} = 2.

To simplify the calculations, replace all \cos^{2}{x} with another variable. For example, let u = \cos^{2}{x}. Keep in mind that 0 \le \cos^{2}{x} \le 1 \implies 0 \le u \le 1.

\displaystyle \frac{1 - u}{u^{2}} + \frac{2}{u} - \frac{1 - u}{u} = 2.

\displaystyle \frac{(1 - u) + u - u \cdot (1- u)}{u^{2}} = 2.

Solve this equation for u:

\displaystyle \frac{u^{2} + 1}{u^{2}} = 2.

u^{2} + 1 = 2 u^{2}.

u^{2} = 1.

Given that 0 \le u \le 1, u = 1 is the only possible solution.

\cos^{2}{x} = 1,

x = k \pi, where k\in \mathbb{Z} (i.e., k is an integer.)

Given that 0 \le x < 2\pi,

0 \le k.

k = 0 or k = 1. Accordingly,

x = 0 or x = \pi.
