Gavin likes biking. This week his goal is to bike about 65 total miles over four days. Each day he wants to ride 1.5 times as fa

r as he rode the day before. How far should he ride on each of the four days. Write the expressions for the distance Gavin needs to bike each day. Then relate these expressions to create an equation that represents Gavin's situation.

Step-by-step explanation:

let the first-day ride be x

Then the second-day ride will be =1.5 x

The third-day ride will be=1.5(1.5x)

The Fourth-day ride will be=1.5*1.5(1.5x)

hence for the four days the distance covered is

65=x+1.5x+1.5*1.5x+1.5*1.5*1.5x

65=x+1.5x+2.25x+3.375x

65=8.125x

divide both sides by 8.125 we have

x=65/8.125

x=8mile

the first-day ride be x=8miles

the second-day ride will be =1.5 x =1.5*8= 12miles

The third-day ride will be=1.5(1.5x) = 18miles

The Fourth-day ride will be=1.5*1.5(1.5x) = 27miles

What is the factored form of the expression. (2n^2 + 5n + 3) (4n - 5)
7nadin3 [17]

So firstly, the factor (4n - 5) cannot be further factored, so we will be focusing on 2n² + 5n + 3.

So for this, we will be factoring by grouping. Firstly, what two terms have a product of 6n² and a sum of 5n? That would be 2n and 3n. Replace 5n with 2n + 3n:

(2n^2 + 2n + 3n + 3)(4n - 5)

Next, factor 2n² + 2n and 3n + 3 separately. Make sure that they have the same quantity on the inside of the parentheses:

(2n(n+1)+3(n+1))(4n-5)

Now we can rewrite this expression as (2n+3)(n+1)(4n-5) , which is your final answer.

My metric bolt measures .780 with calipers over the threads what size is it
attashe74 [19]
Bolts are usually classified in terms of two types of measurements: the metric system and the imperial system. In calipers, the metric system is in units of millimeters, while the imperial system is in units of inches. For example, when a bolt is sized as 12 × 1.25 in the metric system, that means the bolt thread diameter measures 12 mm, and the thread pitch measures 1.25 mm.

So, if your metric bolt measures 0.78 over the threads, that means that the size of the bolt is 0.78 mm in thread pitch. The attached picture shows how you measure the thread pitch.
