If ab = 20 cm and bc = 4 cm, then what are the possible lengths for ac so that ab, bc and ac can form a triangle?

16<ac<24
If it is less than 16 it will not form a triangle and if it is more than 24 the other two legs will not be larger than ac is.

If the endpoints of the diameter of a circle are (−8, −6) and (−4, −14), what is the standard form equation of the circle?
kondaur [170]

Equation of the circle is (x+6)^{2}+(y+10)^{2}=20.

Solution:

The endpoints of the diameter of a circle are (–8, –6) and (–4, –14).

Center of the circle = Mid point of the diameter

Mid point formula:

$P(x, y)=\left(\frac{x_{1}+x_{2}}{2}, \frac{y_{1}+y_{2}}{2}\right)

Here, x_1=-8, y_1=-6, x_2=-4, y_2=-14

$P(x, y) =\left(\frac{-8-4}{2}, \frac{-6-14}{2}\right)

$P(x, y) =\left(\frac{-12}{2}, \frac{-20}{2}\right)

$P(x, y) =(-6, -10)

Center of the circle = (–6, –10)

Radius is the distance between center and any endpoint of the diameter.

To calculate the radius using distance formula.

r=\sqrt{\left(x_{2}-x_{1}\right)^{2}+\left(y_{2}-y_{1}\right)^{2}}

Here, x_1=-6, y_1=-10, x_2=-8, y_2=-6

r=\sqrt{\left(-8-(-6)\right)^{2}+\left(-6-(-10)}\right)^{2}}

r=\sqrt{(-8+6)^{2}+(-6+10)^{2}}

r=\sqrt{(-2)^{2}+(4)^{2}}

r=\sqrt{20} units

The standard form of the equation of a circle is

(x-a)^{2}+(y-b)^{2}=r^{2}, where (a, b) are center and r is the radius.

Here, center = (–6, –10) and r=\sqrt{20}

(x-(-6))^{2}+(y-(-10))^{2}={(\sqrt{20})} ^{2}

(x+6)^{2}+(y+10)^{2}=20

Equation of the circle is (x+6)^{2}+(y+10)^{2}=20.

What is 329 to the nearest 100
yuradex [85]
Here we will tell you what 329 is rounded to the nearest hundred and also show you what rules we used to get to the answer. First, 329 rounded to the nearest hundred is:

300

<span>Remember, we did not necessarily round up or down, but to the hundred that is nearest to 329.</span>

Assessment items Which expression shows the result of applying the distributive property to 9(2+5m) ?
Aleksandr-060686 [28]
The distributive property....ur basically multiplying the number outside of the parenthesis by everything in the parenthesis....to get rid of the parenthesis.

9(2 + 5m) = (9 * 2) + (9 * 5m) = 18 + 45m <==

What is the approximate volume of a cylinder with a diameter of 12 meters and a height of 7 meters? Use 3.14 for pi.
storchak [24]
The mathematical equation for volume of a cylinder is pi times radius Squared Times height

The radius squared is 36

So 3.14 x 36 =113.04
Then you multiply 113.04 x 7 = 719.28.
Round that number and you get to 791.3.

So the answer is c

What equation is graphed in this figure?
Ksivusya [100]

to get the equation of any straight line, we simply need two points off of it, let's use those two points in the picture below.

(\stackrel{x_1}{0}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{2})\qquad (\stackrel{x_2}{1}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{5}) ~\hfill \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{rise} {\stackrel{y_2}{5}-\stackrel{y1}{2}}}{\underset{run} {\underset{x_2}{1}-\underset{x_1}{0}}}\implies \cfrac{3}{1}\implies 3 \\\\\\ \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_2=m(x-x_2) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_2}{5}=\stackrel{m}{3}(x-\stackrel{x_2}{1})

keeping in mind that for the point-slope form, either point will do, in this case we used the second one, but the first one would have worked just the same.
