A 41.0 kg child is riding a playground merry-go-round that is rotating at 60.0 rev/min. What centripetal force (in N) is exerted
Tatiana [17]

Answer:505.94 N

Explanation:

Given

mass of child (m)=41 kg

N=60 rpm

\omega =\frac{2\pi N}{60}=4\pi rad/s

Radius(r)=1.25 m

and centripetal acceleration is given by m\omega ^2r

F_c=41\times (4\pi )^2\times 1.25=505.94 N

How is magnetsm used to create electricity?
viktelen [127]

Answer:

"The properties of magnets are used to make electricity. ... Moving a magnet around a coil of wire, or moving a coil of wire around a magnet, pushes the electrons in the wire and creates an electrical current. Electricity generators essentially convert kinetic energy (the energy of motion) into electrical energy."

A.) If its booster rockets accelerate the space shuttle at 15m/s2, how high will it be one minute after launch?
poizon [28]

Answer:

27,000 m

450 m/s

Explanation:

Assuming the initial velocity is 0 m/s:

v₀ = 0 m/s

a = 15 m/s²

t = 60 s

A) Find: Δy

Δy = v₀ t + ½ at²

Δy = (0 m/s) (60 s) + ½ (15 m/s²) (60 s)²

Δy = 27,000 m

B) Find: v_avg

v_avg = Δy / t

v_avg = 27,000 m / 60 s

v_avg = 450 m/s

Why must the electric field be normal to the surface at every point of a charged conductor?
solong [7]
-- If the field were inclined to the surface, then it would have
some component parallel to the surface.

-- Then, since we're talking about a conductor, the charges
on the object would move in response to that component
of the field, until there was no longer any component of the
field trying to move them.

Boyle’s Law states that when a sample of gas is compressed at a constant temperature, the pressure P of the gas is inversely pro
jolli1 [7]

Answer:

a)V=\dfrac{5.3}{P}

b)ML^{-4}T^{-2}.

Explanation:

Given that

Boyle's law

P V = Constant ,at constant temperature

a)

Given that

P_1=50KPa

V_1=0.106m^3

We know that for PV=C

P_1V_1=P_2V_2=PV

Now by putting the values

PV= 50 x 0.106

V=\dfrac{5.3}{P}

Where P is in KPa and V is in m^3

b)

PV= C

Take ln both sides

So \ln(PV)=\ln C

lnP + lnV =lnC               ( C is constant)

By differentiating

\dfrac{dP}{P}+\dfrac{dV}{V}=0

So

\dfrac{dP}{dV}=-\dfrac{P}{V}

When P= 50 KPa

\dfrac{dP}{dV}=-\dfrac{50}{V}\ \dfrac{KPa}{m^3}

It indicates the slope of PV=C curve.

It unit is \dfrac{Pa}{m^3}.

Or we can say that ML^{-4}T^{-2}.
