Answer:

The temperature of the entire water sample after all of the ice has melted is 31.4 °C

Explanation:

This question relates to the first law of thermodynamics which states that energy can not be created nor destroyed but changes from one form to another

The specific heat capacity of water is 4.2 J/(g °C)

The latent heat of fusion of ice = 333.55 J/g

Mass of the ice = 21.5 g

Mass of the water = 500 g

Initial temperature of water = 31 °C

Therefore

Heat gained by the ice = 21.5 g × 333.55 J/g = 7162.725 J

= 500×4.2×(T-31)

Or T = 31.4 °C

Therefore the temperature of the entire water sample after all of the ice has melted is 31.4 °C

If an atom has twelve electrons, how many electrons are in the n=1 energy level? How many electrons are in the n=2 energy level?
meriva

If an Atom has 12 Electrons then if it is a Neutral atom then the Atomic Number of the Atom will be 12.

The Electronic Configuration of Element with Atomic Number 12 will be :

⇒ 1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s²

We can notice from the Electronic Configuration that :

Given atom has 2 electrons in the 1st shell.

⇒ In the Shell : n = 1

 Number of Electrons = 2

In the similar way : Number of Electrons in 2nd shell = 2 + 6 = 8

⇒ In the Shell : n = 2

 Number of Electrons = 8

In the similar way : Number of Electrons in 3rd shell = 2

⇒ In the Shell : n = 3

 Number of Electrons = 2

Atoms of Mg combine with atoms of F to form a compound. Atoms of which of the following elements combine with atoms of F in the
Lena [83]

Answer:

Ba

Explanation:

Magnesium is the element of second group and third period. The electronic configuration of magnesium is - 2, 8, 2 or 1s^22s^22p^63s^2

There are 2 valence electrons of magnesium.

Fluorine is the element of seventeenth group and second period. The electronic configuration of fluorine is - 2, 7 or 1s^22s^22p^5

There is 1 valence electron of fluorine.

They will combine and form MgF_2

The same type of compound is formed by the other members of the group 2 since they will have 2 valence electron.

Group 2 includes:- beryllium (Be), magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca), strontium (Sr), barium (Ba), and radium (Ra).

Hence, correct options is:- Ba
