Two cylinders A and B at the same temperature contain the same quantity of the same kind of gas. Cylinder A has three times the

volume of cylinder B. What can you conclude about the pressures the gases exert? The pressure in A must be one-third the pressure in B. The pressure in A is three times the pressure in B. We can conclude nothing about the pressures. The pressures must be equal.

Answer:

The pressure in A must be one-third the pressure in B

Explanation:

We shall apply gas law formula to solve the problem

gas law formula is as follows

P V / T = n R  ,     P , V and T are pressure, volume and temperature of n mole of a gas.

quantity of gas is same . That means n is same . R is universal constant so right hand side term is constant for gas in both the cylinders.

For gas in cylinder  A and B , this equation can be written in the following form

Pa Va / Ta  = Pb Vb / Tb

Given , Va = 3 Vb

Ta = Tb , temperature is same

Putting these values in the equation above ,

Pa 3Vb / Tb  = Pb Vb / Tb

3 Pa = Pb

Pa = 1/3 x Pb

vazorg [7]

Answer:

10m/s^2

Explanation:

Given data

velocity= 40m/s

time= 4 seconds

Acceleration a =????

We know that

a= velocity/time

substitute

a=40/4

a= 10m/s^2

Hence the acceleration will be 10m/s^2

An electroscope is a simple device consisting of a metal ball that is attached by a conductor to two thin leaves of metal foil p
baherus [9]

Answer:

the electroscope separate  by the presence of charge carriers

Explanation:

Metal bodies are characterized by having free (mobile) electrons. In the electroscope the plates are in balance; when the external metal ball is touched, a charge is introduced into the device, when the body that touched the ball is separated, an excess charge remains. This charge, being a metal, is distributed over the entire surface, giving a uniform density and an electric force of repulsion is created between the two charged sheets, which tends to separate the sheets. This force is counteracted by the tension component as the sheets are separated at a given angle, the separation reaches the point where

                  Fe - Tx = 0

                  Fe = Tx

In summary, the electroscope separate its leaves by the presence of charge carriers

What is the density of a piece of quartz with a mass of 30g and a volume of 6cm^3
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

\boxed {\boxed {\sf d= 5 \ g/cm^3}}

Explanation:

Density can be found by dividing the mass by the volume.

d=\frac{m}{v}

The mass of the quartz is 30 grams and the volume is 6 cubic centimeters.

m=30 \ g \\v= 6 \ cm^3

Substitute the values into the formula.

d=\frac{30 \ g}{6 \ cm^3}

Divide.

d= 5 \ g/cm^3

The density of this piece of quartz is 5 grams per cubic centimeter.

What is the equivalent resistance of a circuit that contains three 10.0  resistors connected in series to a 6.0 V battery
disa [49]
The equivalent resistance of n resistors in series is given by:
R_{eq} = R_1 + R_2 + ... + R_n
In our circuit, we have three resistors of 10.0 \Omega each, therefore the equivalent resistance of the circuit is
R_{eq} = R_1 + R_2 + R_3 = 10.0 \Omega + 10.0 \Omega + 10.0 \Omega =30.0 \Omega
