The two jet streams that directly affect our weather in the continental US are the polar jet and the subtropical jet. They are responsible for transporting the weather systems that affect us. The polar front is the boundary between the cold North Pole air and the warm equatorial air.

How long does it take a bird to fly 2.5 km if a bird can fly 23km/h?
Lina20 [59]
Time = Distance / speed

Time =  2.5 km / 23 km/h

         = 0.1087 hours                      1 hour = 60 minutes
         =  0.1087 * 60 minutes
         =  6.522 minutes.

If a zebra weighs 390N what is its mass
stich3 [128]
W=mg
m = W/g = 390N/ 9.8 m/s^2 = 39.8 kg

some people round g to 10 m/s^2 and this will give answer of 39 kg, which is wrong

- A capacitor's dielectric material is a vacuum. The capacitor's dielectric constant, or K, will be equal to
dlinn [17]

If a capacitor's dielectric constant is vacuum its dielectric constant is k will be equal to 1.

Explanation:

Relative permittivity of a dielectric substance is referred to as its dielectric constant. Relative permittivity/dielectric constant k is a dimensionless quantity that is the ratio of absolute permittivity and vacuum permittivity.

It is given by the expression

k=k=ε /ε0

where ε denotes absolute permittivity and ε0 denotes permittivity of vacuuum.

Absolute permittivity  ε of vacuum= ε0

therefore k= ε0/ ε0=1

dielectric constant of vacuum is 1 .

A white pool ball of mass 1.0 kg moving at 10 m/s collides with
solniwko [45]

The velocity of the red ball after the collision is 5.8 m/s

Explanation:

In absence of external forces on the system, we can apply the principle of conservation of momentum. The total momentum of the system must be conserved before and after the collision, so we can write:

p_i = p_f\\m_1 u_1 + m_2 u_2 = m_1 v_1 + m_2 v_2

where:

m_1 = 1.0 kg is the mass of the pool ball

u_1 = 10 m/s is the initial velocity of the pool ball

v_1 = 3.0 m/s is the final velocity of the pool ball

m_2 = 1.2 kg is the mass of the red ball

u_2 = 0 is the initial velocity of the red ball

v_2 is the final velocity of the red ball

Solving the equation for v2, we find the final velocity of the red ball after the collision:

v_2 = \frac{m_1 u_1-m_1v_1}{m_2}=\frac{(1.0)(10)-(1.0)(3.0)}{1.2}=5.8 m/s
