Problem 1) The triangles are similar because of the AA (angle angle) Similarity Theorem. The first A is the pair of congruent 39 degree angles. The second pair is unmarked, but look at where the triangles meet. They form a pair of vertical angles which are congruent. So we have two pairs of congruent angles allowing us to use the AA Similarity Theorem.

-----------------------------

Problem 2) We can use the SAS (Side Angle Side) Similarity Theorem to prove that these two triangles are similar. The angles are congruent. They are both 29 degrees. So that checks off the "A" portion of SAS. Then notice how the bottom sides are 32 and 64 for the small and large triangle respectively. They form the ratio 32/64 = 1/2, ie the smaller triangle's side is 1/2 as long as the longer counter part. Similarly, 8/16 = 1/2 as well. The ratio is constant at 1/2. This allows us to use the other "S" portions of SAS.

The table below represents the velocity of a car as a function of time.
zysi [14]
We plot these data where x corresponds to the time and y corresponds to the velocity. Using the calculator, y - intercept is equal to 50. y-intercept is the y-value when x is zero. The car is accelerating. The average rate of change when x =1 to x=3 is (56-52)/(3-1) or 2 miles/hour^2. The car would reach 60 miles/hour when x=5 from the acceleration of 2. Domain is 5.

Which input value produces the same output value for the two functions on the graph? x = −1 x = 0 x = 3 x = 4
grin007 [14]
We know that
The intersection point of both graphs is a common point for both functions, for which for the same input value, both functions will have the same output value.
so
the point of intersection is
for an input value equal to
the output value for both functions is
therefore
the answer is the option
X= 4

Use each picture or description of a triangle, write and solve an equation in order to find the number of degrees in each angle
TiliK225 [7]

4x + 7x - 2 + 5x - 10 = 180

16x - 12 = 180

16x = 192

x = 12

m<A= 4x = 4(12) = 48

m<B = 7x - 2 = 7(12) - 2 = 84 - 2 = 82

m<C = 5x - 10 = 5(12) - 10 = 60 - 10 = 50
