Work done = mgh

Where m = mass in kg,    g = gravity in m/s²,   h = height in m.  W is in J

m = 78 kg,   g = 9.8m/s²,   h = 6m

W =    78 * 9.8 * 6 = 4586.4 J

Gemiola [76]
The average speed of a moving object is the rate of change of a certain distance with respect with time. It is equal to the total distance that was traveled by the object over the total time it takes to travel that distance. For this problem we need to assume that the total distance that was traveled would be equal to 120 miles. So, for the first half of the distance or 60 miles at a speed of 30 miles per hour, the time taken would be two hours. For the remaining 60 miles at a speed of 60 miles per hour, 1 hour is total time traveled. So, we calculate the average speed as follows:

Average speed = total distance / total time
Average speed = 120 miles / 2 hr + 1 hr
Average speed = 40 mi / hr

Why does water’s high specific heat make it a good coolant for car radiators?.
Alexeev081 [22]

Answer:

Car radiators: Water is used as coolant car radiators. Due to its high specific heat capacity, it can absorb a large amount of heat energy from the engine of the car, but its temperature does not rise too high.

Compute the order of magnitude of the mass of a bathtub half full of pennies. (Assume the pennies are made entirely of copper.)
devlian [24]

Answer:

Mass = 873.6kg = 0.874 × 10^3 kg

Order = 3

Question:

Compute the order of magnitude of the mass of a bathtub half full of pennies.(Assume the pennies are made entirely of copper and the tub measures 1.3 m by 0.5 m by 0.3 m)

Explanation:

Given:

Dimensions of the tub = 1.3 m by 0.5 m by 0.3 m

Density of copper d = 8960kg/m^3

Mass = volume × density

Volume of tub = L×B×H = 1.3 × 0.5 × 0.3 = 0.195m^3

Since the tub is half full:

V = 0.195/2 = 0.0975m^3

Mass = 8960kg/m^3 × 0.0975m^3

Mass = 873.6kg = 0.874 × 10^3 kg

Order = 3

Note: Order of magnitude is of the form:

N = a × 10^b

Where;

b = order of magnitude

and

1/√10 </= a < √10
