The half-life of hydrogen-3 (tritium) is approximately 12 years. In how many years will half of a 20-gram sample decay by beta r
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

12 years

Explanation:

We are given;

Half life of hydrogen-3 is 12 years

Initial mass of Hydrogen-3 is 20 grams

Final mass will be 10 g because we are told half of the sample will decay.

To find the time taken for the decay we need to know what half life is;

 • Half life is the time taken for a radioactive isotope to decay to half its original amount.
 • Using the formula;

Remaining mass = Original mass × 0.5^n

n = number of half lives

therefore;

10 g = 20 g × 0.5^n

0.5 = 0.5^n

n = log 0.5 ÷ log 0.5

 = 1

But, 1 half life is 12 years

Therefore, the time taken is 12 years

The virial equation of state is not recommended to be used for polar compounds (asymmetrical compounds with non- zero dipole mom
Pepsi [2]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

*For polar and associated substances, methods based on four should be used four or more parameters, like analytical equation of state

*The term "analytical equation of state" implies that the function

It contains powers of v not greater than four.

*Most expressions are of the cubic type and are grouped into

the so-called cubic equations of state.

*Cubic EoS calls are very popular in simulation of

processes due to its robustness and its simple extension to mixtures.

*They are based on the van der Waals state equation of more than

100 years.

What is the rock cycle?
Reika [66]
A cycle in which.... rocks are formed due to deposition of soil particles under high pressure and temperature in the Earth's crust ... these rocks further breakdown due to weathering,denudation,erosion and such causes by which the loose particles form soils... soil under pressure and temperature... again form rocks.. so this is a continuous cycle...

hope it helps you
