Using ideal gas equation,

P\times V=n\times R\times T

Here,

P denotes pressure

V denotes volume

n denotes number of moles of gas

R denotes gas constant

T denotes temperature

The values at STP will be:

P=1 atm

T=273 K

R=0.0821 atm L mol ⁻¹

Mass of HCl given= 49.8 g

Molar mass of HCl given=36.41

Number of moles of gas, n= \frac{Given mass of the substance}{Molar mass of the substance}

Number of moles of gas, n= \frac{49.8}{36.46}

Number of moles of gas, n= 1.36

Putting all the values in the above equation,

V=\frac{1.36\times 0.0821\times 273}{1}

V=30.6 L

So the volume will be 30.6 L.

as the difference in electronegativity between two atoms decreases, the tendency for the formation of covalent bonds
Ghella [55]

Answer:

As the difference in electronegativity between two atoms decreases, the tendency for the formation of covalent bonds "increases"

Explanation:

Electronegativity being a chemical property which tells us about the tendency about the atom in order to fascinate the shared pair of the electron towards itself. It is being pretentious by atomic number and the distance as well, by the help of which the valence electrons resides from the charged nucleus. In the scale Pauling scale is used. Being the most electronegative element fluorine is counted. The more the electronegativity, the more electrons will fascinate towards itself.

Calculate the formula mass for the compound nitrous acid.
kari74 [83]

Answer:

47.01g/mol

Explanation:

The formula of Nitrous acid is HNO₂:

The formula mass of a compound gives the sum of the atomic masses of the elements that makes up a compound.

Atomic mass of H = 1.0079g/mol

                          N = 14.0067g/mol

                          O = 15.9994g/mol

Formula mass of HNO₂ = 1.0079 +  14.0067 + 2(15.9994)

                                        = 1.0079 +  14.0067 +31.9988

                                         = 47.01g/mol

Cobalt-60, with a half-life of 5.0 days, is used in cancer radiation treatments. A hospital purchases a 30.0g supply of it and s
Rudik [331]

Answer:

Bottle is sitting on the shelf for 15 days.

Explanation:

Given data:

Co-60 half life = 5 days

Total amount = 30.0 g

Amount left = 3.75 g

Time taken = ?

Solution:

AT time zero = 30 g

AT first half life= 30g /2 = 15 g

At 2nd half life = 15 g/ 2 = 7.5 g

At 3rd half life = 7.5 g/2 = 3.75 g

Now we will calculate the sitting time of bottle.

Half life = Time taken / number of half lives

3× 5 days = time taken

Time taken = 15 days

Bottle is sitting on the shelf for 15 days.
