Show that sinA - cosA +1 / sinA + cosA -1 = secA + tanA

Mathematics

sinA - cosA +1 / sinA + cosA -1 = secA + tanA

Now  secA = 1/cosA  and  tanA = sinA/cosA

So sinA - cosA +1 / sinA + cosA -1 = 1/cosA + sinA / cosA

From now on I'll write sinA = s and cosA = c :-

(s - c + 1 )/ (s + c - 1) = 1/c + s/c

(s - c + 1) / (s + c - 1) =  (1 + s) / c

Cross multiply:-

s + c - 1 + s^2 + sc - s = sc - c^2 + c

s^2 + c + sc - 1 = sc - c^2 + c

s^2 - 1 + sc - sc + c - c = -c^2

s^2 - 1 = -c^2

-(1 - s^2) = - c^2

Now 1 - s^2 = c^2 so:-

- c^2 = - c^2

So the identity is proved

Answer:

Value = 500000 × (1.1^n)

$1,296,871

Step-by-step explanation:

a = 500000

r = 550000 ÷ 500000 = 1.1

1st term is the initial year:

n years after that is the "n+1"th term

Value = 500000 × (1.1^n)

n = 10

Is 3a + 3B equivalent to 3 (a + 2B) <br>true or false
natulia [17]

Hi there!

»»————- ★ ————-««

I believe your answer is:

The expressions given are not equivalent.

»»————- ★ ————-««

Here’s why:

  • We can check if the expressions are equivalent by simplifying one of them.

⸻⸻⸻⸻

\boxed{3(a+2B)}\\\\---------\\\rightarrow3*a = 3a\\\\\rightarrow3 * 2B = 6B\\\\\text{Therefore:}\\\\3(a+2B)=\boxed{3a+6B}\\\\\text{and}\\\\\boxed{3(a+2B)\neq 3a+3B}

⸻⸻⸻⸻

  • You can also say that they are not equivalent because it was not completely distributed.

Hope this helps you. I apologize if it’s incorrect.

What does (d+3) represent in 4.5(d+3)=45
Scrat [10]

Answer:

(d + 3) would be 10

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Step 1:  Distribute</u>

4.5(d + 3) = 45

(4.5 * d) + (4.5 * 3) = 45

4.5d + 13.5 = 45

<u>Step 2:  Subtract 13.5 from both sides</u>

4.5d + 13.5 - 13.5 = 45 - 13.5

4.5d = 31.5

<u>Step 3:  Divide both sides by 4.5</u>

\frac{4.5d}{4.5} = \frac{31.5}{4.5}

d = 7

<u>Step 4:  Determine what (d+3) is</u>

(d + 3)

(7 + 3)

10

Answer: (d + 3) would be 10
