here force between two particles is given by Coulomb's law where two particles will either repel or attract each other

this force of attraction or repulsion is given by the equation

F = \frac{kq_1 q_2}{r^2}

here we know that

q_1 , q_2 = two point charges

r = distance between two charges

so now we will substitute all values in it

F = \frac{kq_0q_1}{d_1^2}

so above is the force between two point charges

The distance between two subway station is 3 miles if a train travels between the two stations at an average speed of 60 mph how
Andreyy89

Answer:

It takes 3 minutes.

Explanation:

The distance between the two subways is 3 miles.

The train travels at an average speed of 60mph (miles per hour).

\frac{60miles}{1 hour} * \frac{1hour}{60minutes} = \frac{1mile}{1minute}

We have to convert hours to minutes and we do that by cancelling out the hours and replacing it with minutes.

There are 60 minutes in an hour so we use that, 1 hour/60 minutes and multiply it to the existing speed we have.

The result is 1 mile per minute.

We then multiply the miles by 3 since that is how much we want and we get 3 minutes.

A speed skater moving across frictionless ice at 9.2 m/s hits a 5.0 m wide patch of rough ice. She slows steadily, then continue
enot [183]

Answer:

a = -5.10 m/s^2

her acceleration on the rough ice is -5.10 m/s^2

Explanation:

The distance travelled on the rough ice is equal to the width of the rough ice.

distance d = 5.0 m

Initial speed u = 9.2 m/s

Final speed v = 5.8 m/s

The time taken to move through the rough ice can be calculated using the equation of motion;

d = 0.5(u+v)t

time t = 2d/(u+v)

Substituting the given values;

t = 2(5)/(9.2+5.8)

t = 2/3 = 0.66667 second

The acceleration is the change in velocity per unit time;

acceleration a = ∆v/t

a = (v-u)/t

Substituting the values;

a = (5.8-9.2)/0.66667

a = -5.099974500127

a = -5.10 m/s^2

her acceleration on the rough ice is -5.10 m/s^2

How does your power output in climbing the stairs compare to the power output of a 100-watt light bulb? if your power could have
cricket20 [7]
1) Assuming an adult person has an average mass of m=80 kg, and assuming it takes about 30 seconds to climb 5 meters of stairs, the energy used by the person is
E=mgh=(80 kg)(9.81 m/s^2)(5 m)=3924 J
So the power output is
P= \frac{E}{t}= \frac{3924 J}{30 s} \sim 130 W

And since the estimate we made is very rough, we can say that the power output of the person is comparable to the power output of the light bulb of 100 W.

2) Based on the results we found in the previous part of the exercise, since the power output of the person is comparable to the power output of 1 light bulb of 100 W, we can say that the person could have kept burning only one 100-W light bulb during the climb.

A finch rides on the back of a Galapagos tortoise, which walks at the stately pace of 0.060 m/s. After 1.1 minutes, the finch ti
Romashka [77]

Answer:

Average Speed = 6.37 m/s

Explanation:

The average speed is simply given by the following formula:

Average Speed = Total Distance Traveled/Total Time Spent

here,

Total Time Spent = 1.1 min + 1.5 min = (2.6 min)(60 s/min) = 156 s

Now, for total distance, we have to calculate the distance traveled on tortoise and distance traveled while flying, separately. Therefore,

Distance Traveled on Tortoise = (Time spent on Tortoise)(Speed of Tortoise)

Distance Traveled on Tortoise = (1.1 min)(60 s/min)(0.06 m/s) = 3.96 m

Similarly,

Flying Distance = (Flying Time)(Flying Speed) = (1.5 min)(60 s/min)(11 m/s)

Flying Distance =  990 m

Since, total distance is the sum of both distances, therefore,

Total Distance = 3.96 m + 990 m = 993.96 m

Now, using the values in equation of average speed, we get:

Average Speed = 993.96 m/156 s

<u>Average Speed = 6.37 m/s</u>
