Answer:

27 driveways

Step-by-step explanation:

So for each drive way the kid will earned 30 dollars. Yet in order to get an IPhone 11, which cost $800, how many driveways does the boy needs to shovel?

Well there can be different ways you can divide the two numbers, guess and check or even set up an algebraic equation.

How about we try making inputting the options we have right now.

So the goal is to figure out how many driveways will it take for the boy to earned enough money to buy an IPhone 11.

So we know it cost 800 dollars for the phone and you get paid 30 bucks for it.

How about we multiply 30 with 24

30(24)= 720 => This means that the boy will have 720 dollars if he shovels 24 driveways. Not only that we are only 80 bucks away from 800 dollars. So let us keep going.

Next how about we try 27?

Okay we will have to multiple 27 with 30

30(27) equals 810! This is not 800 dollars, it is 810 dollars, which is even better because the boy will have enough money to get him an iphone 11.

I hope you understand if not don't be afraid to ask questions or comment. Have a great day.

kirill [66]

Answer:

x = 3 and y = 2

or

(3,2)

Step-by-step explanation:

first equation (LCM = 3 x 4 x 5 = 60)

(x+2)/5 - (9-x)/3 = (y - 6)/4

12(x+2) - 20(9-x) = 15(y - 6)

12x + 24 - 180 + 20x = 15y - 90

32x - 15y = -90 - 24 + 180

32x - 15y = 66

second equation:

8(x + 2) - (2x + y) = 2(x + 13)

8x + 16 - 2x - y = 2x + 26

6x - y + 16 = 2x + 26

4x - y = 10

Now you have 2 equations:

4x - y = 10  ---> y = 4x - 10

32x - 15y = 66

Substitute   y = 4x - 10 into 32x - 15y = 66

32x - 15(4x - 10) = 66

32x - 60x + 150 = 66

-28x = -84

    x = 3

    y = 4(3) - 10

    y = 12 - 10

    y = 2

Solutions: x = 3 and y = 2

Please help What is the value of d?
PtichkaEL [24]
Rule: with any inscribed quadrilateral, the opposite angles are supplementary (they add to 180 degrees)

Based on that rule, we can say
d+100 = 180
d+100-100 = 180-100
d = 80
