Solve for x in the equation 2x2-5x+1=3

Mathematics
1 answer:

2x^2 - 5x + 1 = 3

Subtract 3 from both sides
2x^2 - 5x + 1  - 3 = 3  - 3

2x^2 - 5x - 2 = 0

Use quadratic formula with A = 2,  B =  - 5,   C =  - 2

x =  - b +- sqrt b^2 - 4ac/2a

x =  - ( - 5) +- sqrt (- 5)^2  - 4(2)( - 2)/(2)(2)

x =   5 +- sqrt 41/4

x =  5/4 + 1/4sqrt 41  or x = 5/4 + - 1/4 sqrt 41

Answer:  x = 5/4 + 1/4 sqrt 41
               x = 5/4 +  - 1/4 sqrt 41

Hope that helps!!!!! (D)

if rhombus ABCD were reflected across the x axis to create rhombus A'B'C'D', what would the measure of angle D' be?
Mrac [35]

Answer:

D.64

Step-by-step explanation:

A linear line equals up to 180

A+D=180

Substitute 116 for A

116+D=180

Subtract 116 from both sides

D=64

A reflection across the x-axis won't change the measure of an angle

The answer is 64.

Robert owns a doggy hotel. This is like a kennel but much fancier. Last friday the 14th he had 35 dogs that ate 3/8 of a pound o
Sedaia [141]

Answer:

the 7th

0.007805 or  59 / 756

Step-by-step explanation:

To determine the Friday that he needed more pounds, determine the number of pounds he needed per dog for each Friday.

to do this, divide the total pounds by the number of dogs

on the 14th

3/8 ÷ 35 =

3/8 x 1/35 = 3/280

on the 7th

1/2 ÷ 27 =

1/2 x 1/27 = 1/54

to determine which fraction is larger multiply each by 100 to determine its percent

3/280 x 100 = 1.071

1/54 x 100 = 1.852

1/54 is larger. Thus, more pounds was needed on Friday the 7th

the difference between these fractions should be determined

\frac{1}{54} - \frac{3}{280}

\frac{280 - 162}{1512} = \frac{118}{1512} = 59 / 756

7/33 fraction as a decimal
coldgirl [10]
Hey there!

To figure out the decimal of 7/33, just divide the numerator by the denominator. The numerator is the top part of the fraction. The denominator is the bottom part of the fraction.

So, 7 ÷ 33 = 0.212121.....

We can write this as 0.21 with a bar on top of 21. This shows that 21 is recurring.

Thank you! :D
