The formula for slope is (x2-x1)/(y2-y1).

we label the points accordingly:
(-7,3) as (x1, y1)
and
(4,-2) as (x2, y2).

now just plug it into the formula.

(-2-3)/(4-(-7))

(-5/11)

the slope is -5/11.

hope this helps! (:

Slope is -5/11, because -2-3 is -5 and 4-(-7) is 11

How many bucketloads would it take to bucket out the world’s oceans? Write your answer in scientific notation.
kodGreya [7K]

Answer: 7\times10^{19} buckets

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:  A cubic kilometer=10^{15}cubic centimeters

The volume of  world’s oceans=1.4\times10^{9} cubic kilometers of water.

⇒ The volume of  world’s oceans=1.4\times10^{9}\times10^{15} cubic centimeters of water.

Volume of a bucket = 20,000 cubic centimeters of water.

The number of bucket-loads would it take to bucket out the world’s oceans

n=\frac{\text{volume of ocean}}{\text{volume of bucket}}=\frac{1.4\times10^{9}\times10^{15}}{20000}

\Rightarrow\ n=\frac{1.4\times10^{9+15}}{0.2\times10^5}......[a^n\times a^m=a^{m+n}]\\\Rightarrow\ n=7\times10^{24-5}.....[\frac{a^m}{a^n}=a^{m-n}]\\\Rightyarrow\ n=7\times10^{19}

hence,  7\times10^{19} bucketloads would it take to bucket out the world’s oceans.

We can calculate E, the amount of euros that has the same value as D U.S. dollars,
Dafna1 [17]
The problem is saying that 17/20 times the number of dollars equals the number of euros converted. Which in this case to solve your problem, 17/20 times one equals 17/20.

By determining the area of the square, we get x^{2} +4x = 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

The area of a square is given by squaring its side length.

The given squares side length is (x+2) cm.

The area of a square = a^{2} . Here a is the side length.

The area of the square is given as 7 cm².

Step 2:

Substituting the value of a in the equation, we get

7 = (x+2)^{2} = x^{2}  + 4x + 4.

Taking the x values on one side and the constants on the other side, we get

x^{2} +4x= 7-4 =3.

So x^{2} +4x = 3.

So it has been proved.

Consider the function f(x) = -4x²-9x+20.<br><br> Determine f(-2)=
hoa [83]

Step-by-step explanation:

  • you just substitute (-2) into the x values of the above function
  1. f( - 2) =  - 4( - 2)^{2}  - 9( - 2) + 20 \\ f( - 2) = 22

Hi, Please i need help with this question. Workings would be deeply appreciated .
kupik [55]

Answer:

k = ⅕

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope-intercept equation for a straight line is

y = mx + b, where

m = the slope and

b = the y-intercept

Data:

(3,4)     = a point on the line

(3k,0)   = x-intercept

(0,-5k) = y-intercept

Calculations:

1. Slope

m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁) = (-5k - 0)/(0 - 3k) = -5/(-3) = ⁵/₃

This makes the equation

y = ⁵/₃x - 5k

2. k

Insert the value of the known point: (3,4)

4 = (⁵/₃)(3) - 5k

4 = 5 - 5k

-1 = -5k

k = ⅕

The figure below shows your graph passing through (3,4) with intercepts 3k and -5k on the x- and y-axes respectively .
